This is my kid's first real sleep-over tonight...
He has a friend from school spending tonight and tomorrow night with him.

I need food advice. What do I feed these boys?

Thanks.

1. Healthy or fun?
Pizza is always a good choice...but if you want something healthy that's different.

I wouldn't have to worry about them sleeping in the house, either, since the house would smell horrible.

4. food, not junk
What do they like? Make them pizza-or let them cook. Have them make peanut butter balls (spoonful of pb, honey, powdered milk to make it stick together) to eat. Celery, carrots, if they like 'em. Whole grain chips and salsa.

6. Yeah! It's really fun to make pizza
I don't know how old your son and his friend are, but when I used to babysit the kids used to love to make it.

35. Michael and I were talking about it tonight....
If we could go early, while the amateur art is still for sale, the potted plants still on display, and the KKKlan stil handing out fliers for Brother Killian, it could be fun....

8. make sure the other kid has no allergies first
when my daughter has a sleep over, we do standard "kid" food: mac and cheese or spagetti, chicen nuggets, fish sticks, etc.

I know this is crazy, but I am making a list, so that in the future, I will have some variety of "cool food" here for them.

9. How old are they?
If they're teenagers, it doesn't matter, so long as it's in massive quantities and it's not naturally green.

If they're younger...you may have more influence.

31. Tacos are a good choice -- most of the food groups are represented
(however half-assed in their representation they may be).

But...green leaf lettuce...you did well! You might have even gotten them 1% of their RDA of something other than fat, sodium and sugar!

10. Anything not healthy
Just kidding. Try some pizza for dinner. Breakfast is easy with either cereal or the those french toast sticks you just heat up. Chicken fingers always seemed to please my sleep over guest. Have plenty of snacks on hand. You can mix some healthy stuff such as apples, cheese, peanut butter with some junk food-like pretzels or popcorn. Or nachoes with salsa and cheese. Boys seem to eat anything unlike the picky little girls. Gook luck! Hope they sleep!

11. Pancakes or French Toast in the morning would be a big hit.
Also making your own pizza.

Most stores have Pre-baked shells (crusts) and sauces.

Then you get cheese, veggies and pepperonni.

Or you can pick up a Chef-boy-R-Dee kit which has a crust mix, sauce and parmesean mix cheese for a couple bucks. (Note-These are surprisingly good)

Or...if you are really ambitious, making a pizza dough and sauce at home only takes a few hours. :7

You could also try cookie making.
Nothing kids like better than warm cookies.

And again, you can do this at many skill levels.

There is pre-made dough in tubes in cookie cases, mixes on the cake mix aisle, and recipes on the net.

Have fun!

My kid will eat anything...and this other kid will too, but, ya know, with it being the first sleep-over, I wanted it to be memorable. They really dug the tacos and nachos. :-)
