Any "Joan of Arcadia" fans here?
I am getting ready to watch the season premiere in a few minutes. I was just curious if anyone watched it or not.:hi:

1. I did watch it, sort of.
I've been getting progressively drunker as the night has worn on. But it seemed worthwhile.

Normally, I'm a fan -- sure, it's wholesome, but not 7th Heaven wholesome or anything.

3. I resisted it initially
Because I thought it would be like 7th Heaven or Touched Like An Angel or something. But I love it.

I especially love her uber-geek younger brother Luke.

7. I so would have wanted Luke but would have been unwilling to admit it
in high school.

I didn't get in touch with my like for nerds until later...

Amber Tamblyn (the actress who plays Joan) is also quite talented. She's grown beyond her soap role.

8. And her uncle was in the Standells!
Me, I have a long-standing love for nerds with glasses. :)

5. maybe but not necessarily
They are setting up a whole new set of relationship dynamics. I think it is going to be very good this year... but more serious and with deeper issues to think about.

10. I've corresponded (briefly) with Ms. Tamblyn.
She's quite a woman. I am a General Hospital addict, so I was a fan pre-Joan. She posts regularly on her message boards (amtam.com, hint hint).

11. One of my favorites
I rarely turn on my TV anymore, but that is one show that I hate to miss. I missed tonight because a friend stopped over, but the rerun will be enjoyed after the election of President Kerry.

16. Seems like this season will be "Questioning/Crisis of Faith"
For Joan. She'll reject God.

And the other characters will be developed and "Have Visions"

20. Friday isn't a good TV night for me, but..
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 11:12 PM by mvd
I've checked it out a few times for Amber Tamblyn. I have a really big crush on her that was re-inforced by the fact she gave $2,000 to Kerry. Maybe one of these days I'll start watching the show as I hear it's very good. :hi:

21. hi fy. im a definite joan of arcadia fan.
the first half of last season was so good, then the second half seemed a bit more disjointed. perhaps they were trying to find their footing,

hope you enjoyed the premiere tonight. thanks for starting the thread and im looking forward to the season...
