Does God watch over everything you do?
Or did God simply create the Universe and is not even aware of our existence?

IIRC, the second idea is called deism.

Had a serious debate with someone last nite...the assumption was that God exists in some form(pagan idea of animism was included in the definition of God)

would he go to the length of creating two play rooms - one for the good and one for the naughty? is heaven defined by a state of ignorant bliss and heaven of excruciating knowledge of everything?

no point to this post. ramble about God!

2. I was just thinkin' the same thing!
But...in I do think God is probably the collective of existence---everything---people and planets and animals and atoms and dark matter---so God doesn't have to watch nor sit back, God simply EXISTS thru everything.

3. If we go by His Word....
and I do... He has a promise that He will be "with us" ALWAYS... even unto the end of "the earth".... thus, my answer would be yes, indeed.

4. Naw... S/He doesn't have too. Each one of us has a built-in super powered
microprocessor in our souls/spirits/life force/whathaveyou. This microprocessor records our every thought, deed, and action for all of our lives and, then, on the death of the physical body that houses the spirit, it coughs of the most relevent information to the powers that be and yourself.

Or something like that. You got a better theory?

7. of course he does
what else would he do all day? sit on the couch and drink beer?

Then when you wonder how one being can watch over 6 billion humans plus animals and plants and so on, you have to remember that he's God, and there are probably angels helping out.

And I sincerely believe God created the earth...through evolution, because evolution can't just happen on its own. Tiny particles don't just turn into complex organisms with very complex brains and stuff.

Personally, I think heaven can be whatever you want it to be. You can choose your own experience. But one thing is for sure, all the fundies will be segregated by a huge wall because they think they will be the only ones there. And only the fundies who don't hate other people will go there.

8. I'm an agnostic
so I think all knowledge of a higher being is unknown, and unknowable. I think people should focus on the here and now, and create their own meanings of life and purpose.

9. I don't think of it as "over"
...because that would imply that God is "outside" us somehow. If God is indeed all-encompassing, then his existence is within us, including what we think of as "evil." The "evil" deeds would be our denial of God's reality of love, springing from our free will as earth-bound humans.

10. Sure he does
but she doesn't really do much about it, other than be with us.

I, too, have a hard time with the concept of a hell in which the "bad" are cast for eternity. I can't imagine that the God of infinite love and forgiveness would be so awful. If there is a hell, it is only oblivion, to be somewhere where God isn't - or, perhaps, to just be truly dead and annihilated.

I don't think there is a lake opf burning fire in which Satan tortures the evil for endless eternities. Pfagh on that.

Either everyeone gets into Heaven, or no one does. Those are the only possible conclusions from reading scripture, as far as I am concerned.
