Well, looks like I am in for it this time...
Seeing as I got so lucky during Frances, seeing as we never even lost power, despite 3 and 4 day long outages occuring 360 degrees around my house, and the intensity of the storm right outside our windows. We got off easy.

I fear that I have used up my "mulligan" and I am really going to gat blasted this time.

Judging by the stregth (and possible strengthening) of the storm and the apparent track, this looks like it's going to be a more significant event than Frances for sure.

I got my supplies. (The grocery store was more of a mad house than I have EVER seen it.. lines to the BACK)

So, I hope things will go okay.

I will report to DU as long as I have power and cable. (cable=internet)

Good luck everybody else in Florida!

We will ride another one out, it's about all we can do.

:toast:

1. And good luck to you.
I'm gonna try to stay on as long as possible, too. I expect that that won't be long...maybe midnight. Where are you in FL? I'm in Volusia County.

2. Good Luck Heyo
May you, your family and property escape damage.

Like an old friend of mine in Florida once said while watching an approaching hurricane: Damn! This looks like a TWO-BOTTLE hurricane!

5. Hey Heyho
Stay safe. Looke like we up in NE Fl may catch a slight break (storm going to the West), but something tells me we will be without power for a while.

6. Good luck.
In my experience luck comes in streaks, good and bad, so who knows.

Best wishes, and again, good luck.

7. Good luck to you...
These are the times I'm glad I live inland a bit. Even here (just east of Tampa), the wind is picking up quite a bit, and the grocery stores were running low on ice yesterday. Take care of yourself.

10. Good luck fellow Floridians
Stay SAFE!!! I'm north of Daytona but afraid we are going to lose power as well. It was 5 days during Frances and I'm afraid it will be much longer this time. Hopefully (crossing fingers) this will be it for the year and we can get back to some kind of normal life. If not, I'm moving! Be careful everyone!

12. Thanks everyone!!
And good luck to everyone.

Latest update.. getting pretty squally around here... wasn't expecting this type of weather this soon, in terms of some bursts even of some horizontal rain already.

I did manage to find some gas, and didn't even have wait too long, we're okay on supplies even if we lose power. (ice, cooler, charcoal, non-perishable munchies, hot dogs)

The only thing I wasn't able to get that we kind of need is dishwasher detergent, I wanted to do a load before (if) we lose power so we have all clean dishes.

The cats are already a little freaked. The know somethin's up. (I think they can sense the barometric pressure a litte, so maybe to them something just feels..."off")

I will keep updating as long as I can... good luck everyone! stay safe!

Heyo
