Thank you hurricanes

The weather has been gorgeous for over a month. We are consistently getting wind off the lake and the air is really clean.

From my point of view, the hurricane season is an unmitigated success.

I'll be sure to put up a post in December when ya'll get pounded by a blizzard that I am in shorts and the weather is gorgeous, the air oh-so-clean.

Or, if not for the people in Orlando, what about the ones on the central east coast of Florida who are getting two major storms in 3 weeks. No air conditioning (no power, in fact) in 90+ degree weather; long lines for ice, water, gas. The smell of mold and mildew in the house because the roof leaked and there's no one available to come out and help fix it.

But I'll give you a reason to be mad about these hurricanes, something that affects you personally. See, with all these hurricanes, people here are distracted and can't pay much attention to the election. Kerry and Edwards have to limit their visits, their volunteers can't go out and talk to people. Meanwhile, Bush gets to come to Florida and play the "Compassionate Conservative" handing out ice and pledging all this aid. So, he looks good while Kerry has to fade into the background. Could hurt Kerry's chances in the state, possibly cost him the election.

So you see, enjoy it while you can.

8. My brother in law and his wife just moved

to Florida about a year ago, they having a shitty time. It's bad enough getting one huge hurrican but whats happening in Florida is a like a nationial disaster every week. Hope all of you in Florida are buttoned up and safe.
