It takes a true King fan to really appreciate.

10. Not nearly as good as "The Stand" in my opinion.
But I still rather enjoyed it. The Stand is probably his best book.

11. I agree. The Stand was one of King's best works.
In my opinion, the unedited version was the best. But of course, anything by Stephen King is first-rate reading if you are a fan of his type of writing.

5. Yes ...

It's good, not one of his best, but still good.

I hated the movie, mostly because I read the book. Like most King horror novels translated to the screen, something significant gets lost.

I can't figure it out. Movies like _It_, _The Stand_, etc. were frankly horrible movies when compared to the books, in many ways not even the same story.

Then there are movies like _Shawshank Redemption_, Stand By Me_, and many others that are adaptations of King novels or shorter stories not so horror driven. These are excellent, in some ways better than the books.

6. You can't translate "Dread' visually
My favorite book to movie interp was "Green Mile."

I think they got that just about perfect. Even the casting was as good as could be hoped for.

13. It's the same with Dean Koontz' books.
None of the movies have been able to compare with the written versions. "The Watchers" was one example. The characters were totally changed in the movie. The main character in the book was a man, but in the movie it was changed into a young boy.

Actually, a female can not hold "Alpha" status in a pack. The highest rank a female can hold is "Beta".
