I'm on hurricane watch in Florida tonight

I'm near the Polk - Hillbrough County and the wind and rain is really starting to pickup.

Don't want to go to bed in case the wind does any damnage to my house.

2. Yea, this is getting old

I've lived in Florida most of my life and this is the worst year I can remember.

Expect to be without power soon. Because of all the other hurricane they said that we could be without power for up to two weeks.

3. My thoughts are with you

I have been watching the special on MSNBC that has been following all that has been going on as Hurricane Jeanne hits landfall in Florida. The only positive thing was watching Joe Scarborough almost being blown out to sea. I wish you well and pray that you and your house remain safe. Let us know how you are.:grouphug:

4. getting windy in st. pete

i'm up early too, to take a shower and get something to eat before the lights go out. looks like i'll be on the south side of the eye, where the winds will be less intense. not too worried about damage to the apt building, but i'll probably lose power, lost it for 8 hours when frances rolled thru.

5. Osceola/Polk line.. getting wet in here

can't sleep here. Rain drops are falling on my head. Really! The tarps came off a section of our house damaged by charlie. No shingles left there. Ran is just pouring between the boards and down on the floor in 2 rooms. The ceiling had all ready fell and we cleaned that up a couple of weeks ago. That's making it easier to try and keep the water up.

I'm using everything I can to catch water. I've even got my kids pool in his room trying to catch the water. LOL! One of those big ones with a pump. I guess they can go swiming later.


We still have electricity and phones. But our cable is gone. The web isn't giving very good "minute by minute" detals. So no clue what is going on out there.

Or are you all without power?! I have been following this on the news and Weather Channel and my heart goes out to all of you. We get bad winter storms, here in the Northeast, but nothing even close to this. It is just totally unbelievable and I cannot imagine how you're coping. Please hang in there and know how much your friends on DU care and are thinking of you.:grouphug:
