It Is OBVIOUS That Red Sox Fans Have MUCH More CLASS Than Yankee Fans!
i mean there is this stupid Friday night thread talking about (SLAPPING) Red Sox Fans but I must have missed the (SLAP) thread when the Spankees got their ASSES kicked 12-5 last night.

or i haven't had enough coffee yet. one of the two. :)

and since YANKEE owners give HEAVILY to Bush* and RED SOX owners give HEAVILY to KERRY, i'll stick with MY team thank you.

50. In all seriousness....where violence is concerned....
....there is a chance of death no matter what the cause and effects are that instigate it...that's the point...it still amazes me that that is so hard to understand in this instance...as far as takin' it personally...this is a political board and I've seen other times when the same people who have defended this type of violence on one hand yet call themselves pacifists on the other...so I'll say it one more time...it's hypocrisy at its worst as far as I'm concerned and I don't like it from the right and I sure as hell don't like it from the left....so see it's all tied together whether you realize it or not...it speaks volumes when you put it in perspective....it's ALL just a game though regardless....such is life itself. :nopity:

outrage from Dems when the Baseball Hall of Fame dis-invited Tim Robbins and Susan Sarradon from the HoF's Bull Durham anniversary celebrations. The Hall's RW management took offense that Tim & Susan had criticized fearless leader's policies. I well remember fans shouting that - just like there is no room for crying - there was no place in baseball for such politics.

Yet, here's BoSox fan Matcom inserting politics into the fabled Yankees/BoSox rivalry, implying that somehow, Yankees fans are "classless" and worse, Republicans.

How "republican" of you! :(

Oh well. Better luck NEXT year, BoSox fans. You'll have about six months to re-re-re (ad infinitum)-discuss your CURSE before it starts all over again next Spring.

Enjoy watching the Yanks in the WS...AGAIN! :)

Oh, yeah: Johnny Damen needs a haircut. My wife can do the honors for him and any of those other millionaire-class working stiffs who seem so uniquely challenged in matters of style. That, and viewing a few episodes of "Queer Eye" should set them straight. And I've got a whole jar of pine tar remover for those BoSox players whose batting helmets look like a conifer took a crap on 'em. Talk about classless. :)

Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 11:43 AM by Bleachers7
I think it was the 2000 NLCS. The Red Sox are about to lose for the 82nd year in a row and the fans start throwing bottles on the field at the Yankee players.

Or this other gem. When a couple of thugs working for the Red Sox attack 2 Yankee pitchers. The Red Sox have as much class as Bush has brains.

37. That's why Garcia and Nelson were in court on assault charges
and the groundskeeper was out of work for months. Yeah, he attacked the 6'7" Nelson and the stocky Garcia. I notice that they no longer play for the Yankees. Maybe they were troublemakers?

And the Yankee fans invented throwing batteries at opposing teams. Because it's a great rivalry, there has been ugliness on both sides.

It makes me laugh when Yankee fans think they take the high road. My nephew had a beer dumped on him at Yankee stadium when he was 6. Yeah, Yankee fans are classy. :eyes:

23. Hey Wet Sox Fans!
While the Sox were losing for the past 86 years, lots has happened. Here's a recap for you!

1. Radio was invented. Red Sox fans got to hear their team lose.
2. TV was invented. Red Sox fans got to see their team lose.
3. Baseball added 14 teams. Red Sox fans get to see and hear their team lose to more clubs.
4. George Burns celebrated his 20th,30th,40th,50th,60th,70th,80th,90th, and 100th birthdays.
5. Haley's Comet passed Earth......TWICE!!!
6.Babe Ruth was sold. He went on to win 4 championships with Da Yankees!
7.The NBA and NHL were formed, and Boston won championships in both leagues.
8. Man landed on the moon, as have several home runs given up by Red Sox pitchers.
9. Fifteen U.S. Presidents were elected.
10. There were 11 ammendments to the Constitution.
11. Prohibition was created and repealed.
12. The Titanic was built, set sail, sank, and was discovered and became the subject of a major movie, the latest giving Red Sox fans hope that something that finishes on the bottom can come out on top.
13. Fenway Park was built and becomes the oldest park in the A.L.
14. Flagpoles were erected on the Fenway roof to hold all of the teams future world series pennants. The flagpoles have since rusted and been taken down.
15. A combination of 40 Summer and Winter Olympics have been held.
16. Thirteen baseball players have won the Triple Crown; several thanked Red Sox pitchers.
17. Bell-bottoms came in style, went out of style, and came back in style. Disco did the same.
18. The Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Florida Marlins have all WON the world series.
19. Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, and New Mexico were admitted to the union.
20. Bill Buckner (and Aaron Boone).

When did bell bottoms come back in style? I might be able to go out on the street again.

I wonder how many things will be invented before the Yankees win the World series again in 2201?

Spank me fans are as clueless today as the Red Sox were in 1922 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEha.

The first baseball game trasmitted over radio was in 1921! And the first TV broadcast of a game was in 1939.

And you do realize the Yankees have gone longer than 3 years without winning a series......riiiiiiight? And you think there's a curse. LOL!

27. Really?
The last two times Halley's Comet passed Earth were in 1910 and 1986. The Titanic sank on April 15, 1912; Fenway Park opened a week later, April 20, 1912. The Red Sox won the championship in 1912. And 1915. Oh, and 1916 and 1918. And disco still hasn't come back into style.

If you're gonna compile lists like these, at least fact check.
