1. Just need to wait for the Cubs to win
Then it'll only be about a decade for the BoSox.

I was in Boston last year for the NLDS when the Cubs SPANKED the Braves and it was very cool to see that the BoSox fans are as pumped about the Cubs as Cubs fans are about the BoSox.

Red Sox are definitely my AL team.

2. Who knows?
The main thing is not to let them break your heart, if you're a Red Sox fan. They broke my heart in '86. I've been a fair weather fan ever since.

3. Cubs fans already have endured almost 100 years
Since 1906. Do you think if the Red Sox and my Cubs made the Series the same year, the Fox network would be the happiest people in the world(except for me)? Heck, they may even try and extend it to a best of nine for more ratings.

4. Please post it...
If they do win, I'll probably read it here first. I turned off Friday night's game and said to myself this is like reading Moby Dick for the 10,000th time. I mean it's a good book and all, but frickin' Ahab is never going to get the damn whale no matter how many more times I read this thing.

Fortunately there's the World Champion Patriots, so I'm moving on...

(As a testament to my resolve, Shillling is about to throw the first pitch today, and I'm here at DU instead of in front of my TV)..

5. If pigs could fly
and the Sox played the Cubs in a future world series, they'd both lose. Could happen this year.
