I just created the nucleus of a potentially great sammich!..............
I'm on a tight budget and hungry! I stuck some sliced turkey on some toasted wheat bread and garnished with (since I'm out of mayo) some chunky bleu cheese dressing. It was good, but it lacked that something special. Upon revisiting this sammich, maybe I will add some sprouts (for some chew and fiber) and some roasted sweet peppers (to compliment the strong bc flavor).

Any suggestions? I know there's a slew of epicures on here and this sandwich has some potential!

Ahhh..... you gotta love frivolous Sunday posts.

1. Cranberries
almost any kind of chutney to throw in a bit of sweet. You've got to have chutney. Everybody has at least one jar of some kind of chutney that they, their mom, or their mom's friends have made. It's kind of like fruit cake only better.

but a great suggestion! I thought about cranberries, but thought the sweet peepers would have the right zing this beast needs.

2. Granny Smith Apple
Try some slices of Granny Smith apple. It's very good with turkey and a mild, soft cheese like Havarti.

5. my old roommate had the best sammich
He would but pastrami and chopped onions and peppers on a baking sheet and sauce it up with some worchestershire and hot sauce and italian dressing, then put on some cheese and cook it til the cheese was melted and put it on some lightly toasted bread. My God that was good.
