I was searching for some info about the daily lives of US Soldiers while stationed in Iraq and I found a site with a lot of articles . It was not until I finished going through the articles that I realized that I was at the " Free Republic " website . I need to be defreeped and fast . Please DUers , please forgive me . Welcome me back from the dark side .

2. CP, what do you want to know? Both of my brothers were there.
Both are currently home, although one's (The Marine) on 72 hour notice for Afghanistan and the other's (Army) on 96 hour packing notice for Iraq.

The Marine is a mobile maintenance tech - he goes with the fighting forces and keeps the trucks, APVS and anything else with a diesel engine running.

The one in the Army is an Apache Helicopter Mechanic; he's one of a very few (relatively speaking) checked out on the Longbows. He was at Baghdad International Airport for about 7 months.

Both have described (as my husband, an Iraq I vet, and our father, a Vietnam and several smaller combat situations have described it) the situation over there as 95% boredom and 5% gut loosening terror.

PM me your questions and I'll try to get them to answer.

4. fear
it is usually the root of all negative emotions. check this out:
go down deep inside yourself and find compassion for these un evolved citizens. the truth makes them uncomfortable, and they are mostly products of the propaganda machinery aka the media today. how can they even know anything about kerry other than he betrayed his country killed babies in vietnam and windsurfs? we have a lot of work ahead of us even if kerry wins. there has to be a true revolution to cure the cancer that has completely contaminated and corrupted our nation. im really thinking this tremendous division occuring now will sprout change.

5. Fear also leads them to steal Kerry/Edwards signs ...
and bust the car windows of people with Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers . I thought I was the only person who was actually threatened for having a Kerry/Edwards sign but there has been increased activity in my area against Kerry followers . Its darn shame .
