3. Why cant the fucking APA put out a decent style manual?

Look at the MLA's style Manual, simple, easy, compact, relativley inexpensive, right to the point, and easy to use.

The APA manual: Big, clunky, expensive, aggravating to use.

What, is the APA trying to fucking drum up buisness for the clinical psychiatrists or something by driving college students completley and utterly batshit crazy?

6. Googling APA style produces an ad claiming they sell software that

automatically converts documents to APA style. Now it's probably a hustle, or probably more expensive than it's worth, but I mention it as an alternative to your head exploding.

8. EndNote program

is an awesome program. You input your sources and it puts it in the style you want...So, if you submit your papers to journals and have it in ASA, but the journal wants a different style, a few clicks changes it for you! Program is expensive, $110. I went in on it with a few grad students and paid $25 and got the program burned on a cd. I heard from someone you can use a trial version, and if you are computer savy, I guess there is a way to remove the box that stops you from using it after the trial is over. PM me if anyone has questions about it.

I had to do it B.C. (Before Computers.) When you have a computer to do cut and paste, pagination, margins, etc., you are ahead of the game.

But I will agree APA is not the best.

Date first makes it easier to find the latest info.

MLA has some problems for listing internet info, I found.

It took years for MLA to finally go parenthetical documentation. Farewell to ibid., op. cit. or whatever.
