2. I like Conan
Leno was funny as a stand-up, but I don't find the Tonight Show with him very entertaining.

4. If you'd said 2004, maybe I'd have got excited.
Still waiting for Jay to blow his brains out in the shape of an NBC peacock on the Joey Lawrence/Patrick Duffy episode.

;-)

5. They ought to give the contract to Triumph full time
Now that would be exciting news.

The only reason I like Conan is because he used to write for The Simpsons.

6. So then 5 more years of unfunny, and then the funny?
Remind me to switch over from Dave when it's time then.

9. Conan up against Dave?
but then again, who knows what Dave'll be doing in 2009, if it's true.

I like Dave and Conan, and right now switching channels in between them suits me just fine.

10. So So dumb
God how will I survive the 5 years of anticipation. My hearts a flutter. We now all have something to live for.

<sarcasm off>

Give me a friggen break---like we really need to know this so far in advance. Wonder what kind of warped behind the scenes TV politics was involved in this announcement.

I can't believe they are so compulsive about their planning to make these decisions so far in the future.

13. Well don't forget about how they handled the situation
When Carson retired! Dave was the heir-apparent, but the network loved Leno. Check out the HBO movie, I think it was called "Late Shift"???

14. Conan is a horriable interviewer
he basically talks and lets the guest throw a few words in.

15. I don't like this at all!
I love Conan, but i fear he will tone down his show and become bland in an 11:30pm time slot. We will see.....

17. Too much time....
For something to come up. I love Conan and really would hate to see him cheapen his "own brand" by following that fuckstick Leno.

18. Five years is too long.
They should have dumped Leno years ago.

I sure hope Andy would come back. For the sake of both of them.

20. Conan is much funnier than Leno
and on a par with Letterman. Hard to say what Dave will be doing in 2009 anyway.

Nice to see NBC rewarding their people for a change.

23. arggh
i've watched conan since the very first episode of late night. it's one of the only shows i watch regularly. it's really going to suck if he has to... un-dumbify his show for the mass 11:30 audience of old timers and jay leno fans.

26. makes no difference to me
Don't like Leno, don't like Conan. I'll still watch Letterman, or maybe by then, John Stewart will take over The Late Show.

I also expect Ellen Degeneres to move to late-night at some point - she's really quite good at the talk show format.

I can't stand that turd.....he's no where near funny, and he's irritating as hell.

It would be a great job for Seinfeld!
