Looks like I will have to take a day off tomorrow--forest fire

I live in a cabin in the woods. The back field by the railroad tracks is on fire. The forestry service, with bulldozer and all, and the railroad's fire crew, with a firetruck mounted on the rr tracks, have been here all day.

My cabin is made of pine lumber and logs...I will be up all night tonight and home tomorrow with the water hose, just in case.

Fire sucks. :-)

Yes, it's scary. I am going back in a minute to see how it's going. I checked about an hour ago, and there was so much smoke I couldn't see how the fire was.

3. I've been picking briars out of my legs tonight, while posting on DU...

I've been in the back with all the guys who are clearing lanes and stuff. I came in for a while this afternoon and fixed them burgers and drinks--they've been at it for seven hours now.

I know--ZW--what did I do to deserve this? :-)

I know this sounds silly, but I feel protected as long as they and their bulldozer are here.

We do need rain! I hope some comes in the next couple of days, so I can go walk the bulldozer path and find some projectile points. I actually found a tomahawk head tonight. Ground stone. Awesome.
