I admit I have gotten bent out of shape over a few threads on last night's game.

1. everyone clearly over-estimated Gibbs' impact

Unlike Vermeil and Parcells, Gibbs was nowhere near football for many year prior to his return. It's going to take a while.

The problem was an owner insisting on overpaying a few players instead of building any kind of overall team depth. That's the only true impact Gibbs will have - he'll be able to wrestle that power away from Snyder.

Florida always had a very strong running game under Steve Spurrier. It doesn't get attention because of his flashy passing game, but it was always among the best in the country.

Spurriers scheme is not well suited to the speed of defenses in the NFL. We could go on like this forever---this was suppose to be my---I'm sorry for being a jackass thread.

However, toss a guy like Deuce McAllister, Edgerrin James, or Marshall Faulk in that offense and it'd purr.
