Does anyone have a DVD-VHS recorder combination?
I was delighted to see

RCA DRC8300N DVD Player/Recorder and VCR Combo

hovering around the $350. mark....last I checked DVD recorders they were still about a grand. Anyone have any experience with DVD recorders? I want to ditch my tape collection once and for all and archive them on DVD and be done with it. I'll hang up now and listen to your comments.

5. Sorry
I didn't read your post thoroughly - tried to delete prior to looking stupid, but wasn't fast enough.

4. I have a DVD recorder...
Pioneer brand, cost me around $250. I actually haven't used it yet. I am a bit nervous to do so. The remote control is frightening. Has more buttons then my TV controller, which controls my DVR, TV, and can control my dvd player and vcr.

7. I have that one
I haver used it a few times and it works well. I just use it for direct transfers of tapes. When I do dvd's that I need to edit, I do it on the computer.

8. oh! Oh! I have a DVD question!
Okay. My software program burns DVDs at a 2x's rate. All the DVDs I've purchased in the past were 4X and they're working fine. But I just bought 8X DVDs which were on sale, but they're bombing. I can't burn a copy of the movie I made on Studio 8. Is the answer just plain simple that I can't use an 8X DVD disc, or is there some way to make it compatible?
