My kid just asked me if Clinton cheated on his wife

I just bought his book. She pointed to his picture and asked me. I said yes. I asked her where she heard it and she said she didn't remember (probably part of her subconscious! She was born in 94!).

She asked if Hilary was still with him and I said yes. She asked why and I said I guess because she forgave him and they love each other.

She looked at the pictures in the book of all three of them and said "That's good. It's good they're still a family."

I agreed.

So much for "OH MY GOD THE CHILDREN WILL BE DAMAGED BY THIS," eh?

5. I actually did go into the witch hunt aspect a bit

I told her I thought that should have stayed a personal matter but the Republicans were out to get him no matter what so they used millions of dollars of taxpayers money to get him in trouble over it (I simplified it). She said "Well THAT was stupid!"

7. Chelsea is a walking, talking testament

that the power of good joint parenting trumps the frailties and foibles of the individual parents. Caroline Kennedy is, in my opinion, the very best example of the power of united parents, who realize that their children are more important than individual ambitions or desires. Would that we all could raise strong, smart, and independent daughters such as these.

oh yes I have. I told her about the first two times I ever saw him.

It was 1992. I was a senior in college, up late one night, just kinda channel surfing. I happened upon this talk show with a fat guy and a SCARY ASS looking audience. He had no guests. He said hey you know there's a White House CAT, but did you know there's a White House DOG?

Then they flashed a picture of Chelsea Clinton. She was TWELVE.

I remember muttering "who is this son of a bitch who makes fun of a 12 year old girl?" So I turned it.

Another night, I happened to catch him again. He was talking about how Carol Mosely-Braun was only the fourth African-American to ever be elected to the Senate and the ONLY female African-American. He then SANG THE THEME SONG TO THE JEFFERSONS.

My best friend told me the other day the first time she ever experienced him was on the radio. And she said he was so crazy and inane she honest to GOD thought it was satire!!! Then he started agreeing with his callers and she realized he was SERIOUS and she got scared and turned it.
