Anime fans: What the (bleep) is this?
On Tech TV they are showing something called "Soul City" that makes no sense at all.

1. I don't know Soul City, but...
Some anime is just plain weird. Often it only makes sense if you've seen it from the beginning, and/or know japanese and are seeing a non-dubbed version.

3. I Agree with Tech TV anime being shit.
I own the complete collection of Cowboy Bebop. Best use of music of any series live or anime, ever.

2. Don't waste your time with anime on Tech TV
They usually show unwatchable, derivative mecha shit from what I've seen, so I avoid it. Then again, crap's pretty much par for the course for anime on American TV.

If you get the Encore networks, on occasion Encore Action will show some good anime (they used to have a Friday night block, don't know if they still do). At one point they were showing Hellsing, which is one of my favorite shows.

Cartoon Network has the best good stuff to crap ratio out of the channels that regularly show anime but unfortunately like the rest of it, everything is dubbed. And usually cut to shreds (out of all the shows I've seen on there, I think Cowboy Bebop and Gundam Wing got off relatively unscathed). The bizarre part about CN showing everything dubbed is that for a lot of shows they keep the original Japanese theme songs (which is definitely a good thing). I don't get it.

If we can have 5 zillion fundie channels with televangelists bilking old people out of their life's savings, would it really kill one of the cable conglomerates to come out with an 24/7 anime channel? (Yes, I realize there's one testing in limited markets atm...but again with the dub shit)
