Anyone read Frank Herbert's "The White Plague"?

In the story, Irish terrorists accidentally kill an American virologist's wife while on vacation in Ireland. He takes vengeance by devoting years to creating a plague that kills only women, and then releases it in Ireland. It eventually envelops the world.

I wish I could create a virus that would turn greedy totalitarian fascists and power-mongers into selfless tireless humanitarians! I would release it in Washington! Maybe I could call it the green plague? Imagine if we could transform greed-monsters like Falwell, *, Rummy, Rush, Hannity, Condi, Powell, Cheney, Lott, Gingrich, ect. into as many Dalai-Lamas? Wouldn't it be nice to turn on CNN and see senators fighting each other to improve wages and healthcare, protect the environment, help small businesses, and reform corruption?

Time to break out the chemistry set and petri dishes and get to work! :)
