Father And Son Get Into Gun Battle Over How To Cook Chicken
<snip>

BLUEWELL, W.Va. -- A family meal erupted into a gun battle after a father and son clashed over how to cook chicken.

The two men argued Sunday over the best way to prepare skinless chicken for dinner.

"It started out as a physical confrontation, but it escalated until both of them were shooting at each other," Detective Sgt. A.D. Beasley of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Beasley said each man fired a .22-caliber handgun at the other. Harley Shrader was struck by a bullet that went through the upper part of his right ear and lodged in the back of his head. He was treated at a hospital and released. The elder Shrader was not injured.

1. It's definitely time to go to bed

I read that subject line as "... How To Cook Children"

Which brings up the question ...

2. Guns Don't Kill People
Stupid fucking people kill people.

"The proper way to cook skinless chicken is to marinate it in a light lemon garlic butter, then bake it."

"I must respectfully disagree. The proper way to cook skinless chicken is to brush it with a honey barbeque sauce and ranch dressing mixture, then grill."

"I am taken aback by your suggestion. There is but one way to resolve this dispute."

it might be alright, but there might be an innocent family member with an IQ above 50 within range, so I have to say, the stupid should not have guns.

Why did I just know this was in West Virginia?

On edit:

See what happens when we allow first cousins to marry?

10. How Did I Know This Happened In Virginia....
'God, Don't Let Me Die Like This'

Washington Post Staff Writer

Coolidge Winesett, 75, said there's only one way to describe what it was like being trapped for almost three days at the bottom of his Southwest Virginia outhouse after its floor gave way.

"I compare it to the Bible's hell," said Winesett, a World War II veteran and retired janitor.

It had hellish elements--the smell, maggots, snakes, spiders, rats. Plus there was the persistent notion that he'd done something wrong to deserve it, recalled Winesett, speaking by phone from his bed at Wythe County Community Hospital, where he is recovering from dehydration and injuries he suffered when the 50-year-old outhouse floor collapsed from dry rot Saturday afternoon.

it is a true indicator of the charachter of the people of West Virginia and the stock they are from. Warning: It's not going to reinforce your elitist world view. Seems as if you have an axe to grind with West Virginian's.

This isn't the first time you've made derogatory comments about WV. I remember during the Lynndie England flap, you shat all over us! Have you ever been there? Know ANYBODY from there? I have been to VA, and I seem to remember some scary "gumps" there as well. Please look in the mirror before you criticize.

21. first of all i did not personally insult you
secondly dont be so sensitive. people stereotype based on state & city all the time. its not particularly vicious. like people say of us new yorkers that we are obnoxious. and we deal! its mostly untrue most new yorkers are nice. still its nothing for me to get all worked up over.

just my opinion.

I can't speak for TGE, but West Virginians have had to deal with the "gump" stereotype our whole lives. Incidents like the one mentioned by matcom and the whole Lynndie England thing have made us extra sensitive about our lack of a legitimate image in the US scene.

I have corresponded with you, and I never thought you seemed like a "typical" NY-er (whatever that means). You seem very nice and definitely not obnoxious!

:hi: from WV.

27. I Did Not Mean To Be So Testy...
I'd just like to point out that the insults (typically) directed towards Appalachian American's are usually VERY personal in nature. Incest jokes, uneducated or to quote another on this thread "scary".
