Running it here, after some Hard Drive issues that were interesting, to say the least.

Oh yes, you want to try this distribution. Grab the "Community" edition, which is available now or wait until November when the "Official" edition is available.

Early news is that this is rock-solid and fast. Very fast indeed. Tons of goodies.

Note to the geekiest: Playing "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" with the new X.org video server and the Nvidia drivers is a whole new experience. Smoother and the 3D rendering is incredibly better with my Nvidia FX5200 card.

The basic download is available for free. For an enhanced 5 disk download one must join Mandrake Club. Or know how to do Bit Torrent. ;-)
