2. Are you kidding? I'm talking people OUT of voting...
...If they say they can't vote for Bush but don't like/know Kerry, I ask them to just skip the presidential line on the ballot. I've gotten some pretty positive responses from that tack.
(Here in Texas, that's about as much as you can hope for sometimes.)
Are more liable to vote for Bush anyway, in my experience. My wife's Grandmother is 93 years old and a staunch Catholic; she's sitting out an election for the first time.
You have to ASK questions. Find out what issues are important to him. I spoke to a 40 year old female whom said the same thing. I found out that ROE was very important to her since she had 2 pre-teen daughters. She understood if we lost SCOTUS,ROE would be gone!
#1: Don't really care. #2: He is! This may have touched him a little... #3: didn't ask that one #4: He thinks we will always be in debt so it doesn't matter.
But in these cases both of the men agreed that Bush had to go. One is absolutely refusing to vote, but I did make him worried about his two boys getting drafted, and the other I scared enough that he said he "might" vote. He claims he is registered but has never voted. Somehow I doubt he will. :wtf:: indeed.
