The Purpose Driven Life and Church?

Apparently now that my Sunday School is done with Focus on the
Family's "Bringing Up Boys" (and may I just say ICK about that whole
series, and I finally had it out on the subject of homosexuality with the Pastor's wife.) we are moving on to one of these books by Rick Warren.

Anyone here read them? Will I as a liberal Christian in a fairly
conservative evangelical church suffer an anyeurism from reading and
discussing them?
