Ever had a premonition come true? A REAL one... a vision, you saw it
in your mind's eye, and viola, shortly thereafter, it happened or came true. Not a hunch, not a guess, but a genuine flash of reality in the future, that irrefutably came to be.

Had one this week, hopefully not two. Had a vision that a friend's wife would miscarry, and sadly she did. She was in the first few weeks, so they'll be ok. In the same flash, I saw another woman I know, mom with 2 lovely daughters, with cancer. I didn't see her dying, but I saw her ill, as if with chemo. I can only hope its a false read... I'll just have to wait and see.

Anyone else? Stories? Experiences? This is not my first time. I tend to get premonitions when I'm pmsing, of all things! And my flashes tend towards health related issues and finding lost things.

1. I did once.
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 09:01 AM by Lindsay
I "heard" an entire conversation between me and a guy I had a crush on who was in my class the following hour.

I went to class, and the conversation took place exactly as I heard it. Freaked me out.

Sorry to hear about the friend's wife, and I hope your other friend is well.

2. I have them all the time, but probably one of the best ones
happened when I was in college. I has a week-long series of dreams about a place that I knew I had never seen before, but the dreams were very clear in regard to the architecture, and the overall mood. Several month later, out backpacking around the US, I came across the building in Daytona Beach, Fla. It was an interesting experience that affirmed by belief that there is more to life than what we see on the surface.

16. I'm researching this right now
and no, it has nothing to do with the 'universal unconsciousness'. It has to do with synchronicity.

4. I was listening to In Memory of Elizabeth Cotton
By Firehose, I saw the burial of my grandfather in my mind's eye exactly like it happened five minutes before I got the call that he had passed away.

5. Twice in one rainy night, I foresaw car crashes
Hey,

This was very bizarre but perhaps nothing paranormal. Heading east on US 58 on a rainy night in 1993, I was passed by a car going at a very high rate of speed and was immediately seized by panic that a fatal crash would result. So frightened that I started blowing the horn frantically to try to get the driver to slow down. A few miles down the road I came upon the scene of the fatal crash-- car had become airborne going up a hill and landed in a tree, spilling the passenger out on the pavement. Ended up waiting an hour for the road to reopen. A couple of hours further east, driving through the Downtown Tunnel into Norfolk, a taxicab came racing past me on the wet pavement and I had an awful deja vu of the previous feeling-- inevitable crash coming-- and again I blew the horn to get the driver to slow down and he didn't. As I was coming out of the tunnel I heard the screeching and crashing as the cab ran into the concrete wall of the tunnel exit. At least no one was killed that time.
Those are about the only times I have ever been so seized with horror by drivers' behavior that I blew the horn to get them to slow down.

CYD

PS-- When I was a senior in high school I had two precognitive dreams about longhaired boys showing up in school with all their hair cut off, which happened the next morning.

6. An hour or so after my robbery last month,
while I was at the police station, and after I had called the bank to report my ATM card and PIN# stolen, the number 700 just kept flashing through my mind. I had no idea what it referred to, but it just kept flashing through my mind. I chalked it up to emotions, and forgot about it until the next morning. Then, when I called the bank to see if the card had been used, I was told that there had been three transactions on the card within three minutes of each other, five hours AFTER the robbery and four hours AFTER the number 700 just started flashing through my mind. The three transactions together totalled exactly, yep, you guessed it, 700! That really was freaky.

Last fall, I had a dream two nights in a row, very detailed, it was all about me being back in junior high school. The dreams were very detailed and exact as to the layout of the school. I had it for two nights in a row, then forgot about it. Several months later, I attended a parent's orientation for kids beginning middle school this fall at the school, and everything was EXACTLY as it had been in my dreams, both nights! The details and layout were exactly the same! I had never seen the school before, either.

8. I had a strong one while driving once..
I was in a residential neighborhood and had a weird feeling/vision come over me that a kid would come out onto the street on his bike.

I was just ready to make a turn and slowed way down after doing so because of the number of cars parked along the street I couldn't see everything on the sidewalk.

Well, I'll be damned if a kid didn't come flying out of a driveway right in front of me. If I hadn't slowed down I would have hit him and I'd most likely be in a mental ward now because that would have driven me crazy.

11. when I met the woman who later became my wife
I envisioned her in a wedding dress. We were both standing in line at the financial aid office at college and I was talking to someone else, and BOOM there she was. Didn't know her name at the time, but I knew she was going to be my wife.

12. When I was a kid,
I had a dream that my mom pulled up in front of a local drug store, and asked me to go in and use the public telephone to call my dad. There was an Hasidic man at the counter talking to the cashier, and I went in looking for a public phone, but couldn't find it. I went up to the counter and the Hasidic man began yelling at me and I ran out of the drug store.

Two weeks later, I am in the car with my mother and she pulls up to the drug store, and tells me to go into the store and call my father. I go inside, and it is exactly like my dream. Hasidic man, no phone, the layout of the store was exactly right; it was spooky. I just left the store without going up to the counter. I got in the car and asked my mother if anything like that ever happened to her, and she explained to me the whole concept of deja vu.

13. Yes, but never anything good
The one that always stands out in my mind happened when I was very young. I dreamed about the first time I sprained my knee playing basketball. It happened exactlty the way I saw it right down to the clothes I was wearing. It's always stuff like that - never teh lottery numbers. *sigh*

14. yes but they don't all come true
There is nothing to gain by alarming your friend so I would take a wait and see.

Earlier this week, I dreamed that a close friend had died and that his spirit was in the room with me because he had died at that moment and came to say good-bye. I was frozen with sleep paralysis and could not speak to him. When I finally awoke, I decided that there was nothing positive that could come of informing him of this dream.

I received an email a couple of days later stating that he had fallen asleep while driving and he woke up just in time to avoid going off the road and being killed. Nonetheless, the important thing is that he was NOT killed. He is just fine. And he is going to take more care not to drive hundreds of miles on 3 hours sleep in the future.

I've had some of these dream visions come true, and some that don't. Strangely, two of the most powerful ones -- this one, and another, did NOT come true. So make of it what you will.

15. Yup...
I usually have premonatory dreams -- they have a very different feeling than my regular dreams, and I often "watch" them while sleeping and remind myself that I need to remember this.

The worst I ever had were a series of dreams over a year about airplace crashes and one helicopter crash. The crash would happen anywhere from one day to two weeks later. Those really freaked me out.

Interestingly, my nephew now has dreams about plane crashes, as well.

Jung talks about them (but not by that name). They're a common synchronistic event.

18. Once--it was actually 2 predictions, but I got them at the same time.
I had to go in regarding biopsy results--and all of a sudden I got a feeling that it would be OK, and at the same time, I got the feeling that my husband would get this job that he had applied for. Both happened.
