About IFES:

of democratic societies. IFES provides targeted technical assistance to strengthen transitional democracies. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries.
About the Project:
IFES has been awarded a Cooperative Agreement with USAID/Iraq under the heading, “Electoral Technical Assistance to the Independent Election Commission of Iraq (IECI)” - an approximately $40 million portfolio. This award is currently in place for approximately 2 years, including close-out. Employment in this position is contingent upon continuation of IFES’ programmatic activities in support of Iraq or elsewhere necessitating the continued employment of a dedicated Elections Specialist.
IFES seeks qualified applicants to fill several Election Specialist positions each focusing on a different subject matter, i.e. logistics, database, registration, rule of law and more.
Responsibilities:
• Advise the Independent Election Commission of Iraq (IECI) on election technical issues as they arise during the electoral process.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (public administration, law, international relations, political science).
• 5+ years of election experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• General project management skills, including project reporting.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience working or living in a developing country preferred.
• Arabic language skills preferred.
