When the pest guy sprays your house, if you have small animals...
like frogs or iguanas, or even birds, do you cover the tank?

If so, how?

Thanks--I have some fire-belly toads in a fish tank with a hood, and an iguana in a tank with a screen on top. What should I do tomorrow when the pest guy comes? This is the first time he has come since I have had the animals.

1. Call your vet
I'd take them out of the house until it's safe... whenever that may be.

4. FWIW, I do know that birds would have to be removed from the area.
Birds have delicate respiratory systems, so toxic odors can harm or kill them. I would guess that pesticides would be toxic. With birds, sometimes things to which you wouldn't give a second thought can kill them. For example, if teflon heats above a certain temperature, the fumes can kill a bird.

7. Yep. Running "self clean" on an oven will kill them, too. :(
I'm fanatical about safety for my Amazon.

5. Pest control guys....yuck
I wouldn't let one of those people in my house.
Organic pest control for me, thanks.
(Yes! Cover the animals!)

6. amphibians and reptiles are extremely sensitive to that toxic crap
I'd get them out of there. I have heard of people's pets dying from those pest guys even though those companies will tell you it's safe. Bull!
