9. I may just do that
Pitt happens to be my grandfather's alma mater and that of my late godmother. Do they have a good political science program? Thats what I want to major in. I want to go to school either in a city which preferably has a subway system or near the ocean shore.

10. You should probably ask PittPoliSci, the DUer. He'd know.
Pittsburgh has a small subway system that may be extended to the Pitt campus within our lifetimes but don't count on it. The Erie shore is just about 100 miles away

14. I guess it's cool, but I wish it had been another team that moved
I would have liked to go to montreal and enjoyed a nice day of baseball followed by cheap strippers. I wish it were Atlanta that were losing its team

15. They need to call them the Senators though
I heard the mayor didn't like the name.

There's too much history there to be abandoned.

"First in war
First in peace
and last in the American League"

Actually a pretty unfair slogan as much of Washington's history was pretty decent. They were terrible toward the end which I guess is what people remember, plus they always had the Yankees in their league.

19. The damn Rangers still own the Senators name. Just like when the
cowboys hijacked the Redskin's fight song (they bought the rights to it!). Seems like texas is always messin' with us.

Frank Howard is still around--maybe he could come back and work with our new Senators. (sigh)

If not the Senators, I'm ok with the Nationals.

If the team was playing in Norfolk, Virginia I'd see the validness of that being that's a Navy town.

Great team though, imagine if Josh Gibson had made the majors, too bad he died so young, he was only 36 years old.

30. They played all over the place
But had alot of their success in Washington. Since the Pirates aren't gonna use it, I think Washington has a good claim on the name.

It is about time the Negro leagues were recognized more publicly...I think this would be a good way to do it

27. The Washington Presidents (or Prexies as they are called in Wash. PA)
I don't know how the Highschool in Washington PA dealt with having a football team officially named "the Little Prexies". Why not just call them the Washington Candy-asses
