Do you try to find out political affiliations of celebs?
I do, especially for my celeb crushes. In this election season, I've been searching more than usual. I found out from newsmeat.com that a few more of my crushes are Kerry supporters or gave to Democrats (Amber Tamblyn, Eliza Dushku, Jennifer Garner, Amanda Peet, Reese Witherspoon, Alicia Silverstone.)

For some, I've found bits and pieces. At the katieholmespictures.com message boards, I found something where Katie said it was exhilarating to meet a President, but qualified it with "regardless of feelings about where the candidates stand." It makes me think that Katie could be a non-partisan Democrat. She also was at a Fahrenheit 9/11 premiere.

I know that Sharon Case from the Young And The Restless lacks strong support for the death penalty, is friends with Heather Tom, and seems level-headed in interviews.

Colleen Haskell once did an anti-Bush part of a skit on the Late Show.

Hilary Duff may be a future crush (she's too young now,) but I didn't find anything. I have a feeling that unlike fellow Texan Kelly Clarkson, she's a Texas Democrat. Didn't find any real hints. Just saw that she's involved with a charity helping to keep certain animals from going extinct.

Looked up newest crush Hilarie Burton and didn't find anything.

Hopefully, I'll be able to find out more about all of these and others.

1. course, course
Though I know for sure one of my celeb crushes is a dem, because we've seen her on the daily show wearing retro Kerry T's, the other one well she's not really a celeb but she's the Vice Presidential candidiate's daughter, and she's obviously a dem, and the third one, most europeans don't like Bush, I betting she's a liberal. As for my real crushes, my current one I know for certain is. Not sure about the ones from last year but my current one yep.

3. That I am
She's a beauty, and as I say jokingly I'd convert to Judaism for that, I read a little thing about her the other day, and she has interesting taste in movies and music, I like girls like that, apparently she's a non-meat eater too, I always seem to fall for girls like that too. I don't know if Cate Edwards girl number two I infered to eats meat or not, she's a southern gal so she might but that doesn't mean anything, and Petra Nemcova, I really dont know a lot about her personally, just what I've seen. My personal crush shall remain nameless though heh, sorry. But hey 3/4 of my current crushes I am postive are lefties. You know the good thing about girls is that they're both better looking, smarter politically than guys, than again I am very hetero and prefer girls with my politics.

4. I know - I'm embarrassed that more guys support Bush
At least I have a slightly better chance of one of my crushes being a liberal or Democrat. Natalie likes the more eclectic side of music, and I'd rather have that than someone who only listens to Britney Spears (her new single is terrible!) Nothing seals the deal with a crush more than politics, but I do look for other specific little things. Being into watching sports helps, and being computer-savvy also helps.

7. Natalie likes Otis Redding I read somewhere
I enjoy old motown, I forget what else she named but she has interesting taste. She's also in to psychology which is what I want to minor in. Sports is nice, but I like someone who makes me laugh, who I can have a conversation about a variety of stuff with even I myself am not or particularly enjoy it, and just having a great time with them, music is a factor too, thats paritally why I lost one of my school crushes, Toby Keith :puke:, nice girl, and attractive but Toby Keith is just gross.

11. Oh yes, being into music is great since I'm so into it
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 11:07 AM by mvd
For some reason though, more of my crushes are on actresses than singers. I know that some of my music crushes are Democrats or have spoken out for liberal causes (Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, Bree Sharp, Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow, Mandy Moore (denied being a Repuke), Lisa Loeb, etc.)
