13. I've never seen any of them either

prefer reading good SciFi (no, never read any Star Wars books either, prefer books by women writers. Yes, I've read male writers up until I was 40 yrs. old. figured I knew what the men had to say so ever since I've only read women writers)

the Star War ads on TV made them seem like 'boy' movies and never peaked my interest.

I'd rather not be killed. I've made it to 69 and I'm aiming for 80 :)

18. Whether you think the movies are good or not, you can't deny their impact
on the culture. People who refuse to watch at least the first two (Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back) are missing out on two of the most significant works of art of the 20th century. Normally I would hesitate to say that about a movie, but some movies are absolutely deserving of being compared to classic works of art. CITIZEN KANE, THE GODFATHER, TAXI DRIVER, SCHINDLER'S LIST, CASABLANCA, 2001, and yes, STAR WARS are all examples of that.

Film as an artform is every bit as relevant to the modern world as any other medium, and for anyone to dismiss the one movie that advanced the artform more than any other as mere "kids' stuff" is foolish, and they're really depriving themselves of something wonderful.

19. I've only seen one
And it was on the executivo bus from Vitoria to Rio, dubbed into Portuguese, which I still don't understand well enough to follow the action.

Worst of all, it was the one with Jar Jar Binks.

So kill and eat me too.

25. I was also 17 when the first one came out
it got so much hype that a whole gang of us from High School went to see it.

None in that group liked it.

It was a kiddie movie. This came out right at the beginning of the trend of kiddie movies being taken seriously. This trend has grown dramatically since.

I've stayed away from kiddie movies except after I started to have kids of my own.

When I was a kid we went to see Godzilla films. These were aimed at the same age group as the Lucas SW films (8-12 year olds).

Is it so unbelievable that someone wouldn't like this movie and prefer more grown up films?
