Went to see then at Radio City Music Hall. Never heard of them until a few months ago but my g-f introduced me to their music.
Before one of the last songs, the lead singer Jeff Tweedy started to say "I dedicate this song to all of you who are not filled with fear about voting this November..." He paused for a moment and then said, "By not afraid I mean NOT voting for Bush!"
I've got that record they did with Billy Bragg, "Mermaid Avenue" on repeat and just can't get over how fantastic it is, particularly "Way over yonder in the minor key". I swear, it's the greatest song ever.
I actually like Tweedy's songs better than Bragg's which was a surprise. I loved their previous bands too. Wilco is great in concert. Saw them this summer at a festival for free. I love his voice.
