the husband of Ms. Brown is a rapacious developer who, having won an extended battle, is getting ready to tear down a historic landmark so he can build a bunch of McMansions. Good to see some of his $$$$ is going to a good cause.

7. LMAO, I guess I am such a philistine....

Last night I had an opportunity to go to a work-related benefit dinner that was $300 a plate -- I did not have to pay.

But as I am the caregiver to my 92-year-old mother, turned down the invite. $300 for dinner -- even for a good cause -- seemed ridiculous.
