I'd be really curious to know. It seems like the Internet has its own jargon that may or may not make it out into the "real" world. I got really curious about this question after I asked a fellow liberal if he knew what a "freeper" is, and he didn't know.

(BTW, he's now on DU, although I don't know if he posts or just lurks. Hi to Fred from CCSF if you're reading this!)

9. My girlfriend and I use it as an all encompassing term for wingers.
(Even when we not sure if the person even uses the Internet.) It just rolls off the tongue, and it sounds so dirty and derogatory:

"F&#*ing Freepers!"

I really do think it could become part of the general political lexicon, independent of FR. That site is so ugly, I wouldn't send anyone there, but I will call you a freeper if you've got a */C sticker on your car.

11. Yes, and this is NO LIE. It is our family word for fart.
We have used this term for as long as I can remember. I think my dad started it, for obvious reasons. (Sorry, dad!)

As in, "Ooops, sorry, I freeped."

and, "Dad, you are such a freeper!"

and, "No freeping in the back seat!"

12. I've used it talking to friends about online poll results.
I said, "Ah, don't believe it, that poll has been freeped." Of course, they just stared at me and I had to explain the whole thing.

I use it instead of the word conservative when discussing politics.
