Poll question: How Many Icons (Shortcuts) Are On Your 'Desktop' Right Now?
Assuming, of course, that you use an operating system with a GUI and desktop icons/shortcuts.

1. I'm a clutter-bunny... there are 65 icons on my desktop...
and I'll bet that half of them are ones that I'll never use again.

2. SuSE 9.1 -- 4 icons
Then again, the better question might be which desktop? I have four currently, but the answer would still be the same.

I like my interfaces uncluttered and well categorized. I have 6 in my kicker, including the big K menu.

8. Three here (GNOME on Tao Linux)
Home, Start Here, and Trash. What are yours?

By the way, Tao is a remastering of Red Hat Enterprise Linux without the Red Hat trademarks so you can copy it at will -- with Red Hat's blessing.

13. Interesting. Is that distro of yours somewhat like Gentoo?
As in, compiling everything from source?

14. Yes, it's a source-based distro like Gentoo
has more info if you're ever considering checking out source-based distros.

I have a friend who wants to upgrade their Red Hat system, but doesn't like what Red Hat has done with Fedora.

Right now, the only icons on my SuSE 9.1 Personal desktop are a folder containing the iso's for SuSE 9.1 Pro (I've been trying SuSE out and was going to make it my primary desktop OS but now I think I'll wait for 9.2), a folder containing the episodes for the anime Saikano, the trash, "My Computer" and Printer icons, and the SuSE greeter icon (don't really need it, but I like the way it looks :-) )

BTW: I'm a KDE kind of guy. Gnome is great, but I just feel more at home in KDE.

The things I regularly access are arranged in folders on the start menu. It's one more click but worth the tiny effort.

No junk on my real desktop either -- me and clutter just don't get along.

I haven't bothered to keep my computer very organized.

Also, my actual computer desk is pretty disorganized too.

22. 65, but they are very well organized.
I also have 15 TSRs (Terminate Stay Resident) programs that load on startup, and 15 Quicklaunch icons.
