Here's the recent projected path of Isabel - where will she hit?

Man that's a scary path. If you draw a line right in the middle of that projected path she's gonna skim right through Cape Hateras NC and feasibly hit Virginia Beach, which has one of the largest Navy fleets in our country. She could bypass that area and go straight up the Chesapeake and do a real number on Washington DC or go up the Delaware Bay and do a real number on Philadelphia, Wilmington DE and Southern New Jersey. You folks up north of us better hope and pray she doesn't hit to hard of a right cause she'll go smake right into NYC and points north. YIKES!!!

2. Speaking as one who is sitting right in the middle of the bullseye
here in VA Beach, Va., I am more than a little worried. I have lived through 7 typhoons while stationed with my husband on the Island of Guam in the early 90's and I can tell you that these storms are capable of great damage. We had one storm, Omar, that came through 4 days after Andrew hit Florida, and it caused severe damage to the tune of $700 million. This one scares the hell out of me. Just hope that my house survives with minimal or hopefully no damage. Let's all pray that this storm lessens in strength so that when it does hit, and it will hit, it does not do great damage.

3. I'd start getting yourself and your home prepared
I was watching the weather channel and they talked about getting your prescriptions filled up and have plenty of water ready. And a really important message they gave us was to have a place for your pets. Many hotels and shelters will not accept pets in them.

Plan wisely and my prayers are with you!

4. If It Hits D.C.
I'm wondering about the DU server and/or the communications trunking cables that feed the area. Has anyone else thought about this?

9. still nothing to play with
My house was destroyed by a Tropical Storm. A Cat 3 Hurricane is still a very serious event if you are in its sights. Be careful, and continue to make preparations.
