5. Here's a description
The color is way off. And it's shifted to red and looks solarized.

4. Can't find anything re: Photoshop
My advice would be to check with the manufacturer of your video card and see if there is an issue with 10.3.6; hopefully if there is they'll have produced a patch.

Another solution is to manually download the OS 10.3.6 Combo updater here

and repairing your permissions both before and after applying the update.

Good Luck!

6. I found this online
A handful of users have confirmed problems with certain brands of monitors, Hitachi CM715 for example, is incompatible with Mac OS 10.2 & 10.3. The Hitachi monitors, the users wrote, worked with generic monitor profiles, like Apple RGB and sRGB, but as soon as they loaded a calibrated custom profile, the Hitachi screen whacked out the color in Photoshop in Panther and Jaguar. They wrote the same custom profiles worked properly under Systems 9 and 10.1.

(This is the monitor I have. Does this mean there's nothing I can do?)

8. Try creating a new calibration profile
using these settings (which I got from Hitachi's web site):

For Mac
Gamma setting 1.8
White point 6500K (recommended)
Phosphors P22-EBU

X & Y coordinates for RGB color settings
        X Y
Red .624 .339
Green .285 .604
Blue .150 .065

9. Problem solved
I used the default Apple RGB profile and everything now looks fine.
