5. I was going to say 36 - when Norm Coleman got in!
I am *very* bitter about that, and do not expect to get over it at any time soon. He has the seat that was rightfully Paul Wellstone's, and I'm pretty damn pissed off about it.

Have I mentioned that I loathe Norm Coleman? What a sycophantic Bush yes-man. Ick ick ick.

We had some conservative Dem Senators who fucking STUCK IT to the nasty 'Dem' governor (She was an assclown who was Ms. Nuclear Power) They crammed a rider onto a bill on the very last vote on some bill that BANNED SINGLE HULLED OIL TANKERS in Puget Sound. Totally torpedoed the old harridan. She found out about it in the newspaper. She was so mad, I was surprised she did not pull a Rumpelstiltskin and tear herself in two. God that was totally Be-u-tee-ful! Damn I believed then. That was 75, 76.

I think I ceased believing when the Indian Killer racist bigoted mother fuckah Slade Gorton (Yes the Gorton's Fisherman-Boycott-unlike T Heinz Kerry, he gets assloads of $$$ from that) was elected and reelected and reelected. And I certainly did not believe in it in 2002 as I literally (yes I mean 'literally') held my nose as I voted for his successor. So that's about 20, maybe 25 years.

13. When the resolution authorizing use of force on Iraq passed
without a requirement that the inspections be completed. The Senate thought that they could evade responsibility for the impending war by relinquishing their own power and leaving the president to make the final decision. They were wrong.
