Speaking of album covers: Did anyone own this Led Zeppelin LP?
I remember when i was a kid i bought the 'In Through The Out Door' LP. The album's dust jacket, when made wet, released watercolor-like ink. Anyone remember this?

4. I liked the multiple covers
if you fold out the CD booklet it has them all.

I want to get my hands on an original vinyl still in the brown wrapper. That would make my day

8. Got it. Don't know if I'd be willing to give it up
but neither do I seem to be replacing my dead turntable in any kind of hurry, so I don't know why not. Not in mint condition or anything like that... (I really, really, really liked "Carouselambra")

6. I don't understand GS
what happens to the jacket? Does the entire jacket become colorized?

I remember hearing that the cover(s) won an award but I never knew exactly why.

7. Yep...
love the packaging and that of "Physical Graffiti", Houses of the Holy" and "Presence" and "Led Zeppelin II" (the pin-wheel insert). Album packaging was great then. Too bad CD packaging lacks some imagination.

9. My copy didn't have the wet-release ink
but it came in a brown paper wrapper. I remember my sister-in-law telling me about the ink thing, and we went straight for the album, but all we did was loosen the paper fibers...

11. My Favorite Led Zeppelin Anecdote.....
In our senior level culture class at North Miami Beach Senior High School we had to bring one cultural artifact...

I bought the Led Zeppelin Physical Grafitti album and played Kshmir...

There were some African American guys in the class... They acted like it was the worst music they ever heard.....

It is a ponderous beat.....

And I like Zeppelin but hate Stairway To Heaven... It represnts everyhthing wrong with 70's rock...

I will die a happy man. Every song is excellent on that album except for that POS.

Oh and Four Sticks sucks too despite Bonzos playing

20. Ha! Kashmir
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 01:18 PM by Crisco
When I was in college, I was once stranded in the student center for 2 and 1/2 hours and heard the campus radio station play "Kashmir" 3 times in that short period. Drove me up a fucking wall.

I got so frustrated that I ended up joining the air staff, just so there could be a regular 3 hour period where that song WOULDN'T be played, ever.
