No, not a link to it, but a description. A while back, I bought a video at a record convention that was simply labeled "Backstage With The Dead". Hardcore fans I know who have seen and heard it all have never seen this footage (or so they say). One theory is that it's a rough edit of footage originally shot for use in "Backstage Pass". Among the bits I can remember:
-Jerry telling a joke about a beekeeper with the punchline of "Fuck 'em". -Bobby, Bill or Mickey (or some combination) performing dental work on a Gumby figure. -Brent performing "I Will Take You Home" on a hotel lobby piano. -Mickey and Bill trying to teach somebody to bounce a drum stick a certain way. -Lots of live footage, shot from (mostly) stage right (if I'm remembering my stage directions correctly). Includes Dylan/Dead, Tom Petty, and a particularly enthusiastic (if somewhat untuneful) rendition of "Sunshine Daydream".
The whole thing runs about two hours. So, is this something really common, or something I should take the time to transfer to DVD?
