Caffeine?
Just curious. I'm not a coffee drinker but I have several diet-colas, and iced-tea, a day and I'm thinking about cutting myself off.

Would it make much difference? A few years ago I visited some relatives and after a few days had a crashing head ache, it turned out that all of their cola was decaf. Hmm...Maybe it would.

How much withdrawl is there with this stuff?

1. It lasts about a week, maybe two...

The headache doesn't last too long, maybe 2-3 days but you feel real run down and tired for a while, you'll need to budget extra time to sleep. It will help the headache if you don't quit cold turkey. in my experiance at least...

2. Can be quite a lot. Coffee has the most caffeine followed by
colas. Depend on how many you drink a day. Good luck.

5. Yerba Mate
While I'm a huge Caffiend myself, I do try to take a few weeks off every year. One of the best ways to do so is to drink herbal Yerba Mate tea as an alternative. The matine in Yerba Mate 'feels' somewhat like caffeine and does act as a stimulant, but it does not have the insomnia-inducing qualities, the bruxism, the anxiety, etc. Give it a try.

6. You didn't see on the cans that they were caffiene free?
:) Or maybe they just poured it in a glass for you.

I've heard you can get headaches from withdrawing from caffiene.
Why don't you slowly withdraw and then maybe have some green tea..which has a different kind of caffiene in it?..just slightly wired.

8. It can get pretty vicious
I'm addicted. If I don't get my daily shot I get really gnarly.

Wean yourself off slowly.

9. Went cold turkey 3-4 years ago.
I adjusted quickly, and the only downside I've found is that making conversation is much more difficult without that 'buzz'.
It just seems like too much trouble to go to, now. No headache, BTW.

10. If you want to avoid the headaches...
...I suggest weaning yourself off caffiene. Consume less over a short period of time until you are caffiene-free.

I very rarely drink caffiene any more. The occasional diet soda, cup of coffee or iced tea is it. Mostly I drink water or beer. :D

11. three days...
Caffeine withdrawal lasts 72 hours. You should do it at least once to find out how you do without it -- I found out that my "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" was a caffeine sensitivity. If I'd done it earlier, it could have saved me over 20 years of chronic pain.

Invest the 72 hours and see how it goes.

mountain dew has caffeine so don't let the evildoers deceive you
