Coffee and doughnuts for my fellow locked-out Grotto dwellers!
:donut:

Stil scratching my head over the padlocking of the Grotto, our lurid hangout. I hope it opens again soon. I can only stay a short while today, my friends. Let's socialize.

Today; Kona blend coffee. The finest coffee grown in the United States. Apple fritters and bear claws, too!

1. The Grotto was open last night...
TrogL opened it. There just wasn't much action.

Are you finally feeling better baby?

Oh, and pass me a donut. With sprinkles. You know what I like. ;-)

2. Morning, Vel. Doughnut with sprinkles on the way.
:donut:

Hmm. I flipped through the last four or five pages in the Lounge, and didn't see the Grotto thread. Oh well. Sorry to hear there wasn't much action. I didn't want my coffee buddies to think I'd forgotten them, though. :-)

4. It was kinda a quiet night in the Grotto...
I think most everybody was off in GD last night fighting. It was fun. :-)

7. Well, I was off enjoying my wonderful two 'West Wing 'episodes
evening. The syndicated episode on Bravo at 7, then the season premier on NBC at 9. It was better than I had hoped, but not as good as a typical Aaron Sorkin-penned show.

Did you get into any of the scraps in GD, Vel?

yes I did. In fact I'm still over there beating my head against the wall. *sigh*

It's not nearly as much fun without Will though. *pout*

10. I'm sorry, sweetie.
If it helps, Will is over there right now. He posted a terrific thread in defense of Clark's candidacy. It's being ripped to shreds, of course, but it's worth a read.

Poor sweet baby. Have another doughnut. Rainbow sprinkles this time.
Not as entertaiing as Will, maybe, but comforting, wouldn't you agree?

Oh, and it's all your fault that I have to look to GD for entertainment. I never got in trouble over there when I was being screamed at in German and beaten daily. ;-)

14. On the other hand,
Screaming at you in German and spanking you would very likely have gotten ME in trouble. I had to choose. Tell you what; I've got to go take a shower, and then I'll be back. Just think of me soaping up my manly bulging pecs and running my hands down my rock-hard quads, the soap suds trickling down to my..........Vel?........uh, Vel?

Back in a bit. Give Velma some coffee when she recovers, guys. :-)

I won't forget that anytime soon. ;-)

I'll just have to be a good boy and live off the happy memories of being a bad boy. }(

Oh, I always meant to ask you: how did you come up with the name Darth Velma? I mean, I KNOW the origin of Darth, okay? I just wondered what inspired you to adopt the name. If you ever posted it in one of those 'explain you user name' threads, I missed it.

17. Ok, why Darth Velma?
Edited on Thu Sep-25-03 12:36 PM by VelmaD
My best friend and I have this fangirl website at: http://www.ravenswing.com/EVILTWINS.

The hook that holds it all together is Daphne and Velma. She's Daphne; I'm Velma. There is a sizable Star Wars section to the site and one day we were just joking around and the idea of Queen Daphnedala and Darth Velma came up. My best friend is a graphic designer and next thing you know we had pics of Daphnedala and Darth Velma on the webpage. It just kinda stuck on me. *shrug* I'm kinda Sithly and I've got that uppity, know-it-all Velma thing going on too. So it works. :-)

And yes, yes it was under the waterfall...and in the hot tub...and under a blankie...and in the communal shower...;-)

18. I read part of your website a couple of weeks ago.
Now I'm afraid to click the link. Wondering if that stuff is going to settle like crabgrass onto my hard drive. And if my wife discovers it............man, that's all she wrote. (pardon the pun). And even though I'm able to clear the Files tab on my computer, I still haven't found a way to clear the History tab. A man's gotta cover his tracks, y'know.

20. Actually, most of what I read was part of the 'Gladiator' set,
with people rewriting the movie, or penning a continuation of the movie. Most of what I remember is me as an expert on Ancient Rome saying, "okay, that's wrong, that's wrong, that's DEFINITELY wrong, that's wrong........" See, Vel, you're not the only insufferable know-it-all around here. :-)

As far as boy-on-boy goes, it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm probably the gay-friendliest straight guy in America. Two people hooking up, loving each other, and having hot monkey sex is a beautiful thing.

21. Ah, then you read...
the Gladiator smut that my girl best friend wrote just for me. I have the best best friend in all of explored space. :-) (Cause you know that scene in the movie where he's chained to the wall and she comes to visit just screams out for a little NC-17 revision.) ;-)

You're an expert on Ancient Rome? That's cool. Is that what you're studying in school? I know it was historically inaccurte but it was still a fun flick.

Being "gay-friendly" and getting off on reading about (or watching) two guys do it are two entirely different things. But I totally share your attitude on two (or more) people finding love. :-)

23. Don't think I read that one.
It was short and starred Quintus, the weaselhearted 'friend' of Maximus.

No, I'm not studying Ancient Rome in school. A while back, i had to make a decision; go for a PhD in History and never make a dime to help support my family, or go for something with a future. I'm saving History for a hobby and studying to be a Physician's Assistant. It sounds like a sidelines kind of job, but PA's can do everything a doctor can do; diagnose, write prescriptions, etc. They just don't have the crippling malpractice premiums.

BTW, I posted my defense of Clark and Will's post over in GD. Go take a look if you like. Wipe your feet before re-entering the Lounge! ;-)

If we owned the airwaves, instead of the reich-wingers doing so, would they be filled with liberal gas-bags, hatchet-men, and demented Ann Coulter filth-spewing pundits? Call me stoned, but I just don't think so.

36. On that point, I'm afraid, I must reluctantly agree with you.
But it's only because we see more than one way of doing things. The repukes are lauded for being 'focussed' and 'staying on message' because there's nothing to stray from. Just one graven-in-stone, my-way-or-the-highway, way of doing things.

Vel, sweetie. I gotta go to school. Got a chapter final today, and then the rest of the week off! Take care. :*

33. How to cover up your tracks
Internet Explorer:

Tools, Internet Options, Clear History

You might want to clear your cache while you're at it.

Then go to Start, Programs, Acccessories (assuming Windows 2000), Windows Explorer, My Computer, C:, Documents and Settings

Find your user name.

Click Recent.

Remove all the files that appear on the right side of the screen. They're all shortcuts so you won't miss them.

[moderated] the health inspector until he [moderated] and
fixed the chemistry in the hot tubs and pools.

8. For the time being, we can just pass the hat for Trog to raise
some compensation. I already talked to sbp. I agreed to work without salary. Man, just being a Grotto regular is payment enough. We may have to raise the cover anyway, if we all agree to my idea of putting in a wave pool. Somebody might like to go windsurfing, and the wave action may *ahem* enhance the activities of our Grotto thrill-seekers.

There's one near me and at least one person drowns a year.

We can't afford the insurance.

With the cabana girls chattering away it's already so noisy in here I can't think.

28. I'm with Trog on this...
wave pool idea. I nearly drownded in one of those back when I was about 12. I got in over my head and tried to climb out but every time I'd get halfway up the ladder another wave would hit me and knock me off. It was most distressing.

Plus I imagine it's like zero-g sex. It's sounds like fun when you're just idly speculating but the real-life obstacles would make it less than advertised.
