Bewitched.....loved it or hated it?

I loved this show....especially Dagwood, Derwood errr..oh, you know who I mean.

Wouldn't it be fun if you could twitch your nose and all your chores would get done? *sigh* :D

2. Loved It With Dick York
It lost a lot when he was replaced by Dick Sargent.

But Dr. Bombay, Uncle Arthur, Aunt Clara, and the others were excellent!!

3. I liked it
especially the gay uncle. I think he was my favorite character besides the mother. Also the nosy neighbor.

They really don't write 'em like they used to, do they?

5. love it!!
infact, I'm writing a book on Agnes Moorehead (Endora). So BW is a big part of my research. I've spoken to Kasey Rogers (Louise Tate),
Mrs. Dick (Joey) York, William Asher (ex-husband of Liz Montgomery and producer/director of BW). So many of the cast is no longer with us. I hope to talk yet with Erin Murphy who played Tabitha. If you are a BW fan check out this site:
www.harpiesbizarre.com

By the way, if anyone has Hollywood connections or any Moorehead stories I'd love to hear them. I have researched Moorehead's papers at the State Historical Society in Madison and also interviewed Jane Wyman, Karl Malden, Joan Fontaine, Laraine Day, Rose Marie, Jane Wyatt, Carol Lynley, Richard Anderson, Conrad Binyon (a gentleman who worked with AM on radio), Himan Brown, and others--so this is a serious project with me.

20. Wasn't Agnes Moorhead
one of that list of people including John Wayne, Dick Powell, Susan Hayward, and a bunch more who filmed a movie near a nuclear test site, and all died of cancer? Some story I read some time back tried to push the opinion that there was a cause and effect factor there.

25. yes
the movie was "The Conquerer" filmed in 1955 in Utah in an area where Nuclear tests were undertook and many members of the films production staff later developed cancer including Moorehead, Powell, Hayward, and Wayne--all died from it.

7. I always enjoyed Darrin/Sam's advertising proposals

In the last few minutes of the show, when all seemed lost after all hell had broken loose due to witchcraftery, the client would suddenly "see the light" and exclaim Darrin was a genius and he loved the proposed marketing campaign.

"Brilliant! Chewing gum all over children to show how safe the rubber on our tires are! You're hired. Let's double the campaign budget!"

9. I was never a big fan, although
I always thought the mother-in-law getting Darren's name wrong was funny.

I did watch the show growing up and liked it all right...I was just never really into it, for some reason.

10. Loved it. It's from the good old days when even sitcoms had
real actors. So many recent sitcoms have people who ham it up as if they're expecting a laugh. The best shows have funny dialog, but the actors play it straight.

favorite of the Darrins. I also liked Sam's hippie sister, Serena, I thought she was cool.

14. Still have a Twitch for Samantha
Face it... Samantha is HOT!! Gotta go with Dick York as "Darwin" though-- the shows w/o him are strange-- like an "alternate universe" Bewitched where Spock has a beard.

15. Only the black and white with Dick York - loved Larry Tate!
Like Mr. Drysdale and "Miss Jane" in the "Beverly Hillbillies" "Bewitched" had a fantastic cast of characters in addition to Elizbeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorhead and Dick York.

TV Land is showing it now, and fortunately they are in the final season, so the B&W rollover should happen any time now. Whoo-Hoo!

16. Loved it!
Of course I'm a young'un so I only know it from Nick at Nite. :) What a funny show though. Endora is my absolute favorite, she never fails to crack me up. I think it jumped the shark when it started being in color (like so many other tv shows of the period, IMO). Dick York was also the better Darren.

You know what cracks me up the most about it though? That fundies of the day bemoaned it for "promoting witchcraft". I hope they lived to see Buffy and Charmed.

Everyone used to tell me I looked like Tabitha when I was little. I always tried to twitch my nose because I though if I could do it then I would have magical powers. Well, it didn't work, but I still liked the show!

This may just be a rumor, but I heard somewhere there are plans to make a Bewitched movie with Nicole Kidman as Samantha and Jim Carrey as Darren. Don't know if it's true, but I'd like to see it!

29. I loved Bewitched
and occasionally catch a few minutes on TVland when I'm at my mom's house (she spends waaaaaaay too much time watching TV land) I never understood why Sam stuck with Darren (even as a little girl) I mean, if I could twitch my nose and go to Paris for lunch, I would for sure want a man who would fly with me!

30. Loved it, except when "Maurice" was in the episode.
There was nothing amusing about his character, which was that of a bully (to Durward). Endora was less so; Dobbin usually asked for it, with her.

But my fave character was Dr Bombay!!!!

I also give her high marks for narrating "The Panama Deception" and "Coverup: Behind the Iran Contra Affair".

33. Loved it
Love Liz Montgomery. She was easy on the eyes of a adolescent kid like me. For the daughter of a Republican she turned out right.

Dick York had to be my favorite Darwin...Derwood ah whatever. Dick Sargeant was a good replacement but his Darren lost that long-suffereng husband quality that Mr. York brought to the character. I watched a few years after the Dick Sargeant era but by then I thought the show had run it's course. My rebellous nature at the time made bewitched a poor second to things like Led Zeppelin and Easy Rider.

Agnes Moorhead may have been one of the more underrated actresses around. She could play the snobbish mom-witch but was not afraid to dress down for roles that wasn't asthetically flattering. Remember the Twilight Zone episode where she was an uneducated backwoods woman that was battling a flying saucer full of miniture invaters.

Funny Montgomery, York and Moorehead all had roles in Twilight Zone episodes.
