Casablanca is going to start on my TV in a few minutes... and..
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 07:49 PM by Revolutionary_Acts04
Should I watch it? I've never seen it before, I'm tempted, but I'm also tempted not to watch just so I can be weird and be in that small percentage of people who haven't seen it.

I guess its a small percentage, it seems pretty much everyone I know has seen it anyway.

Movies like the Titanic are the ones you want to say you've never seen.

Casablanca's great!

ON EDIT: I expect a full report once you're finished! :)

9. Only watch it if it's in Black & White and is run without commercials!
anything else is heresy!

10. TCM is commercial free
and when they show a colorized, I simply dial out the color and tint controls!

The very first time I did that was when they showed In the Heat of the Night. Something was wrong with it, but I couldn't figure out what--until I realized that it was in color! That movie NEEDS to be in black and white as much as Citizen Kane does!

There's a reason why it's a classic.

15. Well OK, I watched it.
Humphrey Bogart is like the coolest person ever. Ever.

I use to not like old black and white movies, but I think that's kinda normal for younger kids (maybe?) and now, at 18, I'm just developing a taste for them I guess you would say?

So yeah I had never really seen him in action. He is so f'ing cool! :D

The movie, well I liked it, but I didn't love it. Now before you flame me! Let me explain why...

I think its because by now its so well known, and people copy it or play clips of it, that you pretty much know the plot. The ending, which I'm sure was a shocker when the movie first came out, was the part I was most familiar with. So that took something out of the movie.

So I don't know, it was a good movie, and like I said Humphrey Bogart is the man! I just won't be adding it to my all time favorite movie list. Sorry if that disappoints people. Maybe I'll watch it again sometime, and have a better feel for it? OR maybe I'm just insane and that explains why I don't love it? :D

16. I understand, but it's still sad,
You should have been able to see it without the hype.

17. You'll appreciate it more with each viewing.
I don't buy DVDs unless I know I'll be watching them repeatedly. Consequently I don't have many, but Casablanca was the very first one I purchased.

You'll undoubtedly catch things you missed the first time around, too.

Thanks for reporting back!
