OK--Priorities now folks--who's seen the ROTK trailer online?
Now *this* is some important shit!

Before anyone can go to the other forum and bash, mash, masticate, masturbate over the various contenders (on today's menu are Dean & Clark--word of warning--the Dean items are "leftovers")- they must go and view the trailer (via www.theonering.net go there, scroll down for link to trailer) and report back in.

I'm tingly all over again for this movie. Don't know what I'll do after December... guess I'll look into this politics thing folks keep talking about...

1. I've got chills and their multipling!
And I'm looosing control!
Thank you for the link!!!!! I've been dying to see it!

This whole trilogy is the reason the cinema exists. These 3 movies make that fleeting "movie magic" come alive. I can hardly contain myself waiting for it!

3. Go to "THE FULL ROTK TRAILER IS HERE"
Then start downloading. It took a while with my cable connection. What I could see was very small & dark. But enough to whet the appetite. Yes, the special effects will be wonderful. But the how the human (elf/dwarf/hobbit) story plays out is the real wonder.

Thank you, Peter Jackson & colleagues.

5. MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!
I was tremendously disappointed with the "preview" that was floating around previously, this kicks its ass.

Man, you know it's bad when we're all jizzed up over a trailer.

6. Did shelob look small to you?
She looked small to me. And I always thought of her as a web-spinning spider, rather than the hunter spider in the trailer.

7. Uh, this isn't a geek test for me is it...but
I think she looked small due to the forced perspective.

As for webs, etc. There are webs in other shots.

As for Shelob herself-- the one in the film is based on a spider native to New Zealand, I think...the black tunnelweb spider.. there's actually a picture of one somewhere on theonering.net.

OK-- I don't live in my folks' basement. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

10. Shouldn't the forced perspective...
be trying to make Frodo look smaller?

And what I mean is, I'm no entymologist, mind.. there's web spinning spiders, big round fat bodies, with long thin legs; and then there's hunting spiders, with small bodies and big thick hairy legs. A black widow would be the former, a tarantula would be the latter. I always thought of Shelob and Ungoliant had big fat round abdomens, what for Sam to stab his barrow-wight dagger into. (or was it Sting? I'll have to look that up).

9. I can't wait
I waited for the Fellowship of the Ring to come out on DVD before I saw it, but then I couldn't wait that long before seeing the Two Towers. I know for a fact what I'll be waiting for once December gets here.

I liked the looks of the trailer, except for the Japanese subtitles, but of course there's no telling by the impression you get from a trailer what an epic like this will be like.
