i know doom 3 isn't out for a while, but half life was just delayed after i blew 480 bucks on a mobo/processor/memory/video card upgrade..

I can't vouch for much about it now, as I'm early in the game, but it is a pretty game for a high-end machine.

7. Graphics are great

and you can play the lightcycles on their own without playing the rest of the game.

I have to admit that's the real reason I can't tell you much about the game--I've been enjoying the nostalgia of playing the cycles.

6. Tron 2.0 ran on my old P3 800 mhz...

With a GeForce 2 and 384 MB of Ram. You just couldn't have the cool "computer glow" running.
Now that I upgraded, though... :evilgrin:
And for all you people waiting for Half-Life 2: take heart.
Valve has confirmed that the GAME IS DONE, they're now just tweaking it and translating it into twelve languages. Valve is eyeing a worldwide simultaneous release for this game.

And...(there's more!)...They've already got an expansion in the works, due in 2004.

I am waiting for doom 3 to come out! What did you upgrade to? I am running an amd xp2000 at 1.67ghz, ati 9700pro, 512mb ram and creative audigy 2. I am shopping a 64bit amd chip and mb with 1 gig of ram to play doom 3!

that's what i upgraded to.. although i got an xp 2200

i'd been running a radeon 8500 and duron 1200 w/ 384 ram

i'm usually about 6 months or so behind the "latest" because it's much cheaper and i never really notice much of a difference.

half life 2 just looked too good to skimp on the hardware.

i've been playing the doom3 leak and it's friggin unbelieveable.. can't wait for that one either..

I seemed to have a lot more fun with the first game than any other in ages.

was kind of a one trick pony to me.. once the bullet time thing wore off, i kind of lost interest.

best game i've played recently would be wizardry 8.. but that's a fantasy deal.. best fantasy game i've ever played though, by far.
