Eddie was a little shakey.
but Hawkins kicked ass.
Yankees fans ... are they always this cranky when they lose one game? Just curious. Will there be an epidemic of road rage going home from Yankee Stadium this afternoon?

By the way....wait till we get the Yankees in the gawdawful Metrodome. Jeter's ears will bleed.

9. Now there are excuses?
The Yanks shouldn't of made those errors, the only thing that matters is scoring more then the other team which the Twins will do two more times against the Yanks. :toast: to the Twins fans.

14. Errors turn the tides of games
even if it only does produce one run. It creates momentum.

But no excuses here. Yanks didn't get the bats going. They scattered their hits. Pitching was fine. Tomorrow's a new day.

And to think people bash Yanks fans for being rude. But when you root for a team with a LOOOONG history of winning, as opposed to losing (e.g. The Twins), you tend to understand that it's only one game and there's another tomorrow.

If you guys win the series, my hats off to you and we'll see you next year.

Oh, God! Not this weak-ass argument AGAIN!!!!
What is WITH you people? I don't get it. I can't help being a Yanks fan all my life. It's who I grew up watching (which, btw, was the '80's and 90's when they were LOSING every year.)

Seriously, this "it's easy to root for the Yanks 'cause they win" argument is SO tired. It's more tired than Chimpy using 9-11 to justify his wayward policies. Give it rest once and for all.

Sun Devils: 0 Championships
Pacers: 0 Championships
Diamondbacks: 1 championship
Arizona: 0 Championships
Denver: 2 Championships

Actually Denver and Arizona are tied for my top support in the NFL, I spent my younger years in Colorado rooting for the Broncs, but when I moved out here the Cards just grew on me.

So 3 Championships is not bad.

is why I'm no longer a fan of stick and ball sports. Trash talk turns otherwise sane people into crazed fanatics.I recall last week when a Dodger fan was shot by a Giants fan. Here we have people who probably agree politically and they're calling each other names over a baseball game. sheesh. Oh and if anybody's wondering, I'm a Nascar dad.

72. You made a good point Nascar dad...........

but in order to understand the crazed trash talking that has commenced around here you must first understand the psychology of red sox fans.........they are a group of mammals who have a deep, absorbing, hateful obssession with the Yankees, to such point that they feel more happiness at a Yankee loss than a red sox win, to such a point that they observe and follow more closely the Yankees than their own team.......then there's the trash talking, despite the fact that their team is always a runner-up, despite the fact that their team are ETERNAL LOSERS, for some compelling reason red sox fans feel they have the right to talk trash about the Yankees and they do, all the time, it's an extraordinarily disturbing mental state that they have.....I don't expect you to understand all of this but hopefully you can make use of the information I have passed on.........

73. You're hilarious!
Where do you get this material? It's amazing. A wonderful parody in light of the reality that it was a Yankee fan who did the attacking around here. Though the attackee is no Red Sox fan. Heck, the attackee might even root for the Yankees should they play the Red Sox.

You never know.

75. well when I was a Red Sox fan
I was beaten by a Yankee fan, with his plastic batting helmet. This while his friend the other Yankee fan held me down. So you'll forgive me if I don't buy into this "psychology of Red Sox fans" scenario. The only bad behavior I've ever witnessed has been by Yankee fans and I was on the receiving end. I was just a kid and they were adults and all I was guilty of was wearing a Sox cap and not telling them that the Red Sox suck. I stopped being a Red Sox and a fan of the stick and ball sports because if I couldn't be identified with a team then I couldn't be attacked. I'm a Nascar fan because I can sit next to a Gordon fan or an Earnhardt fan and watch a race or bench race without coming to blows and yelling and screaming. Now if I can start to turn Nascar away from the Repugs I'll really be happy.

78. Sorry, but I feel much more safe at a ballgame
than I do at a NASCAR race. I went to Dallas with my folks last year, and I saw a number of nasty exchanges, a couple that came to blows. It was similar in Phoenix a few years back. I go to 25-30 ballgames across the country each year, and I don't see nearly as much "action" the whole season as in one race.

Don't get me wrong. I've got nothing against NASCAR, but let's not pretend that its fans are somehow more civil than baseball fans.

79. Lets agree to disagree then
because I've been to plenty of races, both local and Nascar and never seen any fighting or anything. You saw what one race? There are exceptions to every rule and what you witnessed may've been an aberration not the norm. We Nascar fans can still bring coolers with beer to the track, whereas in other sports you can't bring your own and you pay $6 for a beer, $4 for a soda and beer sales are stopped in the 5th or sixth inning.Nascar does limit the size of the coolers but that's for security concerns not fan behavior.

83. hey anythings possible
some of them are just as pissed at * as we are. There's a Nascar truck with Bob Graham for a sponsor. Affect change from within. Today I saw a car with a Rusty Wallace sticker on it and right below that a bumper sticker with the following.

Let's not elect W this time either.

76. They didn't break anyone's legs or wrists while they were at it?
Much like the strike of '94, I'm not forgetting their puerile childish toddler attitude that "Whatever it takes to win" is acceptable. Especially when the bone-breaker didn't get punished.

82. I like their chances
Everyone had underestimated the Twins (why do you suppose the game was at 1 pm today instead of prime time?). I think they are hotter right now than the Yankees. Plus I think New York is vulnerable and they don't seem to want it as badly- too old hat by now. I am SICK of the Yankees plus it is like no one talks about other teams besides the eastern ones. I like the BRaves too but I think the Giants may go to the Series.
