Tom Selleck - Total Freeper or Middle of the Road Repug?
I know the man is a Republican and fairly vocal about it - but I remember during the build up to the Iraq war, he chastized other Repubs for jumping on opponents of the war - and said something to the effect of " it's a free country, you shouldn't call someone unpatriotic for saying their mind."

1. I thihk he's somewhat middle of the road.
Or whatever passes for middle of the road in the other party.

I think he's in the "Bruce Willis" wing, as opposed to the "Mel Gibson" wing of the party.

2. Is Mel Gibson really an extreme Republican?
Remember, he said he enjoyed Farenheit 9/11 and is now expressing doubts about the Iraqi war. I think he's just a nut all to himself.

3. Watch In and Out and tell me he's a Freeper
I've heard Selleck deny he's even a conservative, he says he just has his own beliefs, and that people assume he's a conservative because of his National Review commercials with Heston. That was a while back, though, he could have moved more to the wrong (never call it the right) since then.

I loved him in In and Out. The kiss with Kevin Kline still has me laughing. Then again, maybe he was just happy to get work and the role doesn't reflect his true beliefs. Who knows.

"Selleck's father, Robert, told a reporter that his famous offspring isn't even a Republican. He's a registered independent with libertarian leanings."

http://www.lp.org/lpnews/0010/newsbriefs.html

"In an interview with the Chicago Tribune on August 10, Selleck said it wasn't odd that he played a Democrat in a recent TV movie, even though he has been called a conservative.

"I prefer Libertarian," he said.

"Selleck joins a number of other celebrities -- including Clint Eastwood, Drew Carey, Kurt Russell, John Laroquette, and Bill Maher -- who have identified themselves as "libertarian.""

5. Yeah, it's one thing to be a republican
it's another thing altogether to campaign for the spawn of satan.

8. That is so true. I have friends in California who despise W, but still
voted for Ahn-owld, and sing his praises! It is beyond me. I would not pee down Guiliani's throat if he was dying of thirst.

6. Didn't what's-her-face blast him for his stand on guns?

But, he was answering phones on the "Star studded" Tsunami telethon that George Clooney did.

EDIT: It was Rosie O'Donnell who let him have it on her show.
