Is The Amazing Race about to jump the shark with Season 7 with Amber/Rob?
I'm sorry, but what's with recycling contestants (much less winners) from other reality shows?

I realize that the season prior to the one that ended last night had a contestant that was in an earlier version of Big Brother but she was eliminated early on and BB isn't the ratings monster that Survivor is.

I understand that due to the length of the time committment that it may be easier to get models and entertainers (or what have you) apply to be contestants. However, TAR built up its ratings by being somewhat unique from programs like Survivor and BB in that it relied less on people gathering together to eliminate others and relied more on people's abilities to rely on their own strenghts to navigate and make sound decisions in order to avoid being eliminated.

Granted, although bunching tended to eliminate most mis-steps the team that came in last usually did so as the result of a poor choice in approaching a task or failing to follow directions. (the needle in the haystack style challenges should be eliminated however as a lot of that is strictly just blind luck)

It's just nothing more than a shallow ratings grab to bring in "Amber and Rob" of "Survivor" since the show had been building up steam without having to go the way of special hooks.

I've enjoyed watching the show but I believe I'll sit this one out on general principle.

1. I don't think it will be bad
Amber and Rob are not as petty as the BB girl was. We'll have to see.

2. My first season watching was a disappointment
I watched last season's season-ender, and it got me hooked.

I was so disappointed this year - Actors, Models (ignorant xenophobe models at that) - and so much of it revolved on strength rather than wits.

Too much bunching - too many times some internet cafe or museum was closed, so everyone was bunched at the gate at starting time, and the biggest, pushiest one got to the clue box first.

Why not some more tasks that require wits, wiles, brains? It shouldn't be a given that the youngest and fittest team will win, and this year's tasks and logistics guaranteed that.

5. The only season where bunching wasn't a problems was
season one. I think it must be a production thing to have Phil to meet at the pit stop with the teams. You could get behind by a couple of days with the conflict in the flight and train schedules. Then you just have a bunch of couples that have no chance, if they fall behind.

the host from TAR was on the cbs morning show today, giving a check to the racist bitch and her idiot boyfriend- and he was talking about the next race-
He said that he didn't know who amber and rob were, because he wasn't a survivor watcher- but he said that they (amber&rob) came to the TAR people, saying that they wanted to be on, and that's why they're on...

EXCUSE FUCKING ME!...but there are LOTS of people who "want" to be on- why not give the slot to people who haven't already won a ton of money and cars on another show???

fuckwads.
I. will. NOT. be. watching.

4. Amber was pretty much a background person on Survivor: All Stars
...so I don't have anything against her*, but Boston Rob? They could've chosen someone who was less of a dick, at least.

*Bear in mind I'm going from memory. She could've been awful, but she really didn't make much of an impression on me.
