5. A cross between "Office Space" and "Swingers"
These guys are total geniuses!!! I enjoyed this as much as almost anything I've seen on the web. It is so totally appropriate now considering the joke that the press has become vis a vis Gannon in the White House.

Hey, maybe the 'supersodas' crew could get in the next press conference and ask * some tough questions.

8. o0xst!
Thanks for the kind words folks! I appreciate it very much indeed...we had a fine time and are glad you enjoyed the ol' story. Found this link to the forum via the Guestbook, and am glad I did as I will probably be participating here fairly often as Democracy and the Underground, not to mention forums are things I am quite interested/fascinated in/with.

BTW I am the crazy fube with the gum wrappers...

Anyway the Gannon thing is interesting. Ive written articles for various papers and stuff and always get a lot of silly emails from people about them (typically from the bold-freedome luv-it-er-leave-it) folks. I was talking in another forum about Kurds in Iraq, and before I go into this I'll address the

"Hey, maybe the 'supersodas' crew could get in the next press conference and ask * some tough questions"

topic. I had an oppurtunity to ask one of the ballstars a question, and the question (on live FOX™ TV before 10s of millions) was going to be "Mr. Ballstar, what is your opinion on disenfranchise kurdish voters in the quote unquote Iraqi elections, and how does what is being portrayed by the new age Goebbels compare to the Nayirah incident created by the huxsters at Hill Knowlton?"

But at the last second I decided not to, as there is a lot more stuff like this I want to do and would not be able to...that woulda been huge and all over the news and websites and all that jive...and really nothing of any merit could come from it other than personal gain for me...so, yknow.

However, I have had some success in these regards in smaller venues, where I think such actions are actually quite worth doing. In '02 I snuck into a "invite only" Gubenatorial debate here in Oklahoma, and asked the now Governor Brad Henry (won by a very slim margain) a question which I told him 2 days beforehand about...he said "wow! what a great thing you are bringing up, why didnt I talk about that???" (the issue was that this hoodlum he was running against..former ball-star and current US Senator Steve Largent had accused him of voting no on so called pro-business bills, when the actuallity was that no votes would have offered up some regulation that could have thwarted the enrons, the worldcoms, the dot com cowboys, etc....). His reply was excellent and all kinds of people wrote about the incident and circulated the video over the interenet. At his victory party he shook my hand and suggested he'd like to "see me around"...well that oppurtunity hopefully will come soon as he is proposing so kick arse prescription drug laws that will tell Pfizer and her willing executioners what they can do to themselves, and hopefully they will....and I know I can help out with this endevor if I can get involved...

here is the video of the event, have a look!!

http://www.digitaldfw.com/pizzacalls/glorpdebate.mpg

And in regars to "Wonder what's gonna happen when THIS gets out....." If it is something bad, well I know I can count on you fine folks to help out!!!

and if you get bored, have a look at some of my old columns...I highly recommend the Spongebob one and "pancakes for pinkos"

9. Did you catch this? Think Jim Guckert:
fun with photosodas
to avoid allegations of forgery if the occasion arises, we contend that 1. a press pass is not a legal document, 2. there are no laws citing impersonating a reporter/press, specifically from "The OoxSodas Media Group", and 3. logos and designs used were altered to not appear exactly as original, 4. anyone who wants to write a story about their experiences to the masses — i.e. a website — is essentially a “reporter”, 5. :[]

If Jeff Gannon did it why can't anyone else? OR they could just buy Jeff Gannon's press pass off ebay.

I'll have one of my Gargoyle game playing friends try and grant you +20 Contextual deduction points...

as the anti-hooked on phonics coalition (Gardner et. al) say, "put your finger over the word that is causing you the problem...read the sentence, and discover what probably goes in that spot...more likely than not the word is a synonym for the word you are thinking about"

a fine treat indeed!!!

...and thanks for havin' me!!! Glad to have discovered this place.

You're going to be known as that "emo BOB guy" forever now.

Did you have "bright eyes"? I'll have to go back and look. When I said that I didn't think you or your friend would be posting here. I hadn't read the entire thread when I posted.

Now I'm kind of embarrassed, I hardly ever say that about people. The one friggin time I do and that person shows up. Figures.

Howdy --

I'm the .. how you say .. curly haired guy in the scenario... :]
Not sure how the supersodas link made its way here but we appreciate the discussion..!

it's funny about the huge contrast between your discussion here: Mostly supportive and appreciative of our achievement -- and, as Shunt has pointed out to me, the lynch-mob style discussion on this other ridiculous super Bolde-Initiative-type board in Oklahoma, where the buzz is completely opposite where they are all up in arms -- one of 'em actually suggested that Shunt merely needs a "gunshot to the head".. Freedom & Steadfast Boldeness Resolve at their finest!

Anyway... more fun flavas coming... stay tuned :]

regards

29. another supersoda anecdote.. cops+guns+press bus=iraq
oh ya?
how you like the red lobster so far? :]

ay, one thing i didn't mention in the story was ---
we were on the "press bus" getting shuttled to the stadium from the Adam's Mark hotel and they took us through some pretty unflattering neighborhoods near the stadium to get in the back way -- (side note: when they had a world cup venue here in dallas in '94, the worst of dallas' neighborhoods surround "Fair Park" but city officials made sure all routes and pathways "important people" would be riding through would be poop-free, etc...not sure if they pulled it off) --- and so ---

about three minutes after Shunt commenting that "This place looks more and more like Iraq" --

our bus is at a red light... to our right is an apartment complex, and we notice a commotion .. there are two COPS pointing GUNS at about eight black people cowering back in the parking lot... so we all stare .. and I start telling the driver to run the red because something's about to go down.. well, the bus pulls onward, and as far as we heard, no gunshots -- but we didn't venture back later to see if there were any chalk outlines... of course, if anything happened it probably made page 27H in the next day's edition of the Jacksonville Oox Gazette Times Telegraph, being trumped by how great the vendor-booth-filled Motorola Walkway of Lanterns was!

And funny enough, Shunt then reiterated his claim that it reminded him of Baghdad!... a pretty crazy thing to see!

(not to stomp on yo towne, KyndCulture -- the walk down the riverside path was pretty cool... this was just our one-day impression of what we saw)
