13 Arrested For Selling Unlicensed Cher Shirts At Concert
<snip>

The Pima County Attorney's Office is saying "I got you, babe" to 13 people arrested last month in connection with the sale of unlicensed Cher T-shirts at the pop diva's Tucson concert.

The accused shirt vendors include a convicted murderer and a convicted kidnapper, according to the indictment in Pima County Superior Court.

The 13 vendors, who include eight California residents, several homeless people and nobody with a permanent address in Arizona, are charged with assisting a criminal syndicate. They also face counts related to fraud and selling counterfeit merchandise.

All charges are felonies that carry the possibility of prison time; assisting a criminal syndicate is punishable by up to 3.5 years in prison for a first-time offender.

Police arrested the group on Jan. 19, the night Cher's second farewell tour stopped at the Tucson Convention Center. (It's a long goodbye: Cher's first farewell tour stopped here in 2003).

3. When will the Administration...

4. Of course this is illegal.
And they knew it before they did it.

The only exception is when you print a NEWSPAPER on the T-Shirt about the star or band involved, which turns it into a free speech issue. There is a very objectionable person I know in Chicago who used to do this, and won the court fight, too.
