Any fans of SCTV?
I went to "Fiddler on the Roof" yesterday, which stars Harvey Fierstein, but the female lead is ANDREA MARTIN, who I think is the funniest woman alive. I waited at the stage door just to say hello to her. She was pushing her bicycle, and she was very nice. She was up for a part in "Spamalot," but had to turn it down due to taking this role when Harvey took over for Alfred Molina.
Went home and watched some old SCTV shows...the DVD set was a bithday gift...all hail Pirini Scleroso!
P.S. Danny de Vito and Rhea Perlman also came out the stage door...they must've come to see the show too. Man, is he short!(and I'm speaking as a 5'1" person).

1. Yep!
In fact, I just saw an episode of the new Outer Limits series which was directed by Catherine O'Hara.

They are all very talented peoplee. I wasn't into SCTV too much when it was first on, but NBC ran the whole series after SNL for a few years, and it was great.

2. Who didn't like Edith Prickley??? :-)
I'm a fan of Andrea Martin. She created some truly memorable characters on SCTV (and I also liked Pirini Scleroso as much as you do. :-))

Glad to hear she's still working and doing ok.

4. Apples and Oranges, I know, but the comedy on SCTV was
always far superior to anything SNL ever did. Brilliant stuff.

9. yes. one of the most hilarious things they did (IMHO)
was dubbing an old Cisco Kid episode. I am not ashamed to admit I nearly peed myself laughing at that episode which started with Edith Prickly saying "Ya like reruns? Good!" I loved Lola "I want to bear your children!" Heatherton and Dr Tongue's Monster Chiller Horror Theatre. And Andrea Martin as Indira.

11. "Dr Tongue's 3-D House of Pancakes"
I cracked up when that "scary" movie was shown on Monster Chiller Horror Theatre. :-)

Great, great classic, funny stuff from SCTV. Sheer absolute comedy genius.

12. LETS MAMBO!
love the show and have 36 vcds of their shows.

each cast member was so good that it is hard to pick out the best actor or skit, but i have to go with johnny laRue and Polynesian Town and that damned final crane shot that got guy cabellero all upset.
